Time profile of pollution in #Ennis shows huge peaks in particulate matter (PM2.5) during the last few nights. Concurrent peaks in sulfur dioxide (SO2) pointing towards burning of solid fuels with high sulfur content. @EnnisAirQuality

Purple Air alert in Ennis. Air Quality has been very poor in Ennis, Co. Clare (10 on a scale of 1 to 10) and poor in Tralee, Co. Kerry (8 on the scale).

Summertime, when the colds are really covid. Claims like "I've got a bit of a cold/sore throat/cough but it's not covid" are almost certainly wrong. The data below also shows that medics still not accepting covid dominance even out of "flu season".
At the peak of the late-summer Covid wave, U.S. health systems were testing approximately evenly for COVID, flu, & RSV. Yet, *nearly all* positive cases were Covid. #PublicHealth guidance must disabuse the myth that Covid conforms to the flu/RSV seasonal pattern.

During this journey, @IrishRail is far from meeting the upper threshold for CO2 of 1400 ppm, as required in the @TheHSA Code of Practice for Indoor Air Quality. This CO2 level in an occupied area indicates poor delivery of fresh air and action should be taken to reduce it.
Oh @IrishRail! Your punctuality figures may be impressive but your onboard C02 figures aren’t. This is your 15:05 service from Galway to Dublin today - Saturday. Passengers can’t open the windows to access fresh, clean air. Any chance of getting clean air into the carriages?

This week in key Covid publications:.—Young, healthy individuals with mild cases had objective cognitive deficits at 1-year that they did not perceive.—Older, hospitalized adults with severe Covid had an equivalent of 20 years of decline in cognitive performance at 1-year.
