There was $1.4 billion worth of FTX customers who thought they had bitcoin exposure, but didn't. FTX had no bitcoin. It's like having an unallocated gold ETF, but even more fraudulent. Owning bitcoin means to run a node and have a self-custodial wallet. All else is a proxy.

Twitter has broken just about every piece of this FTX story using blockchain analytics, while NYT is writing puff pieces on a criminal. Feels like a turning point for citizen journalism and loss of trust in MSM.
