Send your queries out and don’t expect a response. Low expectations equals less heartbreak. I also kept a list of wins when things seemed bleak (i.e. personalized rejections - they do exist! And maybe piles even if they ended in rejection). Looking for the positives really helps.

Took a few weeks off from writing because … well, life. From a house move to the kids bringing home a slew of viruses, I needed the break. But got back to it last night, cracked open that screen and the words started pouring out of me. So happy to be writing again!

Take breaks during querying. It’s an emotional rollercoaster. And celebrate the wins - personalized rejections, maybe piles, partial requests and fulls. I made a list for myself of the wins and it kept me going!
