My favorite part of a reread is when you notice things that you didn’t the first time around. The things that seemed insignificant or that you overlooked before now seem so important. It’s like reading the same book with a whole new perspective.
For the last few years I’ve been too ashamed to show my stomach. I only saw the stretch marks and wrinkles of what was left after my pregnancy. I’ve avoided shirts that ride up & 2 piece swimsuits.
Never again.
My body performed a miracle and I refuse to let myself forget that.
People always ask why I don’t join a book club if I love reading so much, and really, all it boils down to, is I don’t like being told what to read 🤷🏻♀️
People tell me I act like an old lady because I like to read a lot, enjoy a good cardigan, and am in bed by 8pm. I don’t get why they think that’s a bad thing?
My husband asked me the other day for the name of the author of the book I’m currently reading (and talking about constantly) and then he went out and bought me another book by them..
I may not read all the books I buy as soon as I buy them, but the real reason I get them is because I feel better knowing that they’re right there so I can read them if I ever want to.
It’s amazing how I can read a book and feel so immersed in it, like I’m actually in that world. The fact that some people can write like that is the most incredible thing to me.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to give books more than one try. Sometimes you pick up a book, and it’s just not the right time to read it, but in a couple of months or maybe even a couple of years, that same book could change your life.
Buying books will never be a waste of money. They bring with them new worlds, beautiful covers, comforting and healing words. Books are an investment, a statement. They’re worth every penny.
You don’t need to read every single day to be a reader. You don’t need to read 100 books a year to be a reader. You don’t need to only ever read physical copies of books to be a reader. As long as you love reading, you’re a reader.
The fact that some people can read books in the car without getting violently ill is so incredible to me. If I even read a sentence my stomach turns into an acrobat.
There’s something about walking into a room full of books, whether it’s a bookstore, a library, or someone’s home, that just immediately makes me feel content.
Seeking bookish best friend. Needs to be able to put up with someone who will endlessly talk about reading books, buying books, looking at books, and how to arrange books on the bookshelf. Also required to never mention how large my tbr is getting.
A reminder that reading books and buying books are two separate hobbies. So when I haven’t read the last five books I’ve purchased, but still want to go book shopping, I’m really just looking for that little dopamine rush that buying books gives me.
One of the best feelings in the world is when you’re reading a book and the rest of the world around you falls away and you’re entire being is consumed with the words coming to life in your mind.
When you just finished a phenomenal book & want to get lost in another one so you don’t have to miss the last one as much, but now you can’t figure out which book to start next
I do this thing where I carry my book from place to place, even if I know I won’t have much time to read it. It’s generally just for the comfort and security I feel having it with me.
Being a book lover means going through bouts where you are incapable of putting a book down, and then suddenly out of nowhere wanting to read so badly but not being able to focus at all on a book.
I’ll forever be annoyed with people making others feel bad about their book choices.. who cares whether you like what someone else is reading? Reading is an escape. It’s about happiness. It’s about the reader finding something that brings them joy. Let them find their peace.
The fact that someone else can read the same exact book as me and process it in a completely different way than I do is one of the most insane and also one of the most beautiful things about reading.
