Oh, and on that note, please assume approval for short extensions over the festive period, get in touch if you have an anti-social review or resubmission deadlines so we can update them, and let ideas percolate as you eat mince pies. They're inspirational.

#ERSS Christmas holidays (2/2): resubmission etc. etc. It's hugely rewarding work, but we need a break every so often. So, the journal office will be closed from the 18th Dec-8th of Jan. We look forward to responding after we get back, and hope you take a much deserved break too!

#ERSS Christmas holidays (1/2): Not everyone realises that from submission to acceptance, it is an academic that looks after your article. An academic that has multiple jobs. As Managing Editor, this means that I review every new paper, extension request, system error, ....

It has been a pleasure to lead this special issue in @Climate_Policy. Launched in time for #COP28, and given the controversy surrounding oil, gas and the event, we are sure that all articles can meaningfully contribute to profitable discussions on #phaseout and #justtransitions.

I’ve handled the review of > 1000 papers at @nature. Over time, you notice aspects of presentation on which reviewers tend to comment. In the interests of minimizing hassles during review, I offer the following suggestions (a bit targeted to climate papers).

The bosses of two of UK’s energy giants warned that for many, this winter will be tougher than last, with energy debt growing. @e3g’s analysis shows the current gov has failed to implement the structural solutions to lower bills https://t.co/7SK61s5Vxz

27% of UK homes in the UK Gov's own survey did not heat their homes to a comfortable level in response to spiralling energy bills. That's 1 in 4 homes on the average street. > 1 in 10 skipped meals & took on more debt. Where is the UK's nationwide energy efficiency scheme?

It's a pleasure to be in Inverness today and tomorrow as part of the Scottish Government's #FuelPoverty Advisory Panel's tour. The Highlands will always be my home and the challenges faced are distinct, heterogeneous, and critical.
