It is now established that the COVID-19 virus suppresses the immune system by inducing lymphopenia and inhibiting the T cells. Multiple consequences as a result.

The Merck Manual admits SARS-CoV-2, like HIV, causes lymphocytopenia. “Patients with lymphocytopenia experience recurrent infections or develop infections with unusual organisms.” Though “the cause is not completely understood,” we carried on with Forever Reinfections anyway.

You truly don’t understand how sick a human can be until you’ve seen an ME/CFS patient. Nothing compares.

“Most of the people I’ve seen with #MECFS are so much sicker than my cancer patients.” Dr. Fridbjörn Sigurdsson, a former medical oncologist now focused on ME/CFS, speaking at the 2025 @Invest_in_me conference. Thanks to @mecfsskeptic for finding the clip.

While this is good advice, the easiest way to become a single digit is to learn to get around difficult courses. If you can shoot in the 80s in something with a slope of 140+ you will be single digit in no time. This is easier than shooting in the 70s at an easy course imo.

One of the hardest parts of chronic illness - beyond the symptoms - is watching life move on without you. I got Long COVID at 21, I’m 25 now. I’ve seen friends start & progress in careers, move in with partners, progress relationships, have reunions… while I’m here in bed 24/7.

This is COVID. 100%. Population based connective tissue disease. Varies in severity. Increased incidence of soft tissue injuries. I know from experience. People need to wake up and stop being so stupid.

We seem to getting more on the right track. To this point I've basically had to figure this out for myself by experimenting on myself. Sort of messed up, but that's where we are.

Golf etiquette is quite simple…really tired of degenerate golfers…especially at a country club. 1. Make a ball mark…fix it…didn’t make one…fix one anyway (heck fix 10 if your partner AimPoints) 2. Take a divot, fill with sand or replace it. 3. Drag your foot in the

There’s no winning with chronic illness. If we cancel plans, we’re flaky. If we rest, we’re lazy. If we push through, we must be fine. No matter what we do, we’re always misunderstood.

This Isn’t a Cold! Long Covid- It’s the Lie That’s Breaking Patients, and Providers Many people love to say COVID is just a cold now. A sniffle. Two days in bed, a bowl of soup, back to work. Except a cold never killed a million Americans in one year. A cold never packed

There are concerns about a "mysterious illness" going through the pelaton at the top cycling event Tour de France. Several racers were reported to be affected already days ago. Since then, star M. van der Poel has withdrawn with pneumonia while R. Evenepoel left feeling "empty"

Why study a virus (that everyone is infected with) that hangs out in every tissue in the human body that is neurotropic, oncogenic, immune system ravaging, a vascular accelerant, and massively pro-inflammatory when you can study PET tracers?

For a brief moment in time, media acknowledged COVID is causing the skyrocketing cancer rates in young people (& everyone else). In 2025, everyone has forgotten again, & we aren’t anywhere near “after the pandemic.” This is after all of science spent 2020-2024 acknowledging

A reminder of what the global research output on #MECFS looks like, when compared to other diseases 😳 In the US at least, each of these other diseases now has a lower burden (measured in DALYs) than ME/CFS - and yet ME is barely off the floor. #MECFS #LongCovid

I like what @C_Scheibenbogen does here. Don't present ME, LC, PAIS/IACC as "complex" or complicated! "if only we would finally understand how it works, and they don’t understand it—not because it’s so complicated, but because it has hardly been researched so far.” ENG subs 👇

Should be dedicating massive amounts of research dollars to this. We fund tons of nonsense while this is a huge burgeoning and widespread problem. Single digits the number of nonsmoking young adults I saw with lung cancer pre-2020. Now it's several each week. #LongCovid
