I have been practicing as a dr for nearly 3 decades. I have never seen so many young adults with autoimmune diseases diagnosed left right centre and on strong medications. I have never seen so many new heart conditions. People perpetually falling sick. It is the Covid.

Was in a bit of a shock. Asked my patient to mask. He asked me why I’m still insisting this as aren’t we over all this now? I said no. He told me his parent in ICU. Masks not required. Nobody masks. In ICU. What hope do I have to continue to reinforce this as I’m just a GP!

I think TB may rescue us all. Why? Latent TB getting reactivated. Most are maskless. Needs N95. Active TB spreads, AIRBORNE of course. 4-6months treatment. People can still get TB despite being vaccinated. This will spread thick and fast. Unless sleeping beauty PH wakes up.

Patient A, 20+ yrs old. Mental health problems. Feeling extremely tired. Usual GP bloods normal. Had Covid 3 times- so I sent her for extensive bloods. Low complement, low NK cells. Long Covid. Would have been dismissed by many GPs who are not aware of Covid impact.

If I go in to hospital and am covid free. Then had a procedure and caught Covid-19. Do you think I can sue the hospital for giving me Covid-19? Especially when I explicitly state how I intend to keep myself Covid safe when in hospital?

For those who had Covid, consider getting lipid profile and basic bloods done. Just saw a young patient with heart attack. Fit and well previously. Had Covid infections x2. No family history. This is not normal. Covid attacks blood vessels. Wear a mask! You deserve clean air.

I’m not asking you to mask. If you don’t want to, your choice. It is just heartbreaking as I’m seeing the damage from Covid 2022 in my patients. More and more have long covid but they don’t realise. Just thought they are getting older or life is just too busy.

@lindsayboyce85 @EnemyInAState Nope. Not even that. Plain old boring staph aureus. Went to ED Children’s hospital before coming to me. Took almost 2 months to eradicate. These are fit and well kids. Never sick. It is the immune system after Covid.

@Linda365367391 Most GPs see the symptoms but they don’t join the dots. Most don’t even ask if the patient caught covid in the past. Stay safe!!! Plenty of Covid and long COVID out there.

Q1. Why do I mask or wear a respirator? Because there’s an airborne virus causing havoc to multiple organs. I don’t want to be sick. Don’t want to have a new diagnosis. Don’t want to take medications. Not financially viable to be sick!

@1goodtern I am extremely shocked to see how inundated the hospitals are. Why is the govt not doing anything? XBB.1.5 is already there. Apparently XBB.2 may be even worse?

I’ve accepted that my patient may catch Covid and may not survive. I can’t do anything more. And this is what frustrates me. It is totally unnecessary. If people treat Covid as it should be, I won’t be tweeting this right now. Since when is catching a virus and getting sick ok?

If I have to choose between Covid or flu, I’d rather have flu than Covid every time. Covid is much worse than flu. End of. Listen to @1goodtern

Shall we finally put this farce into perspective? Put the final nail in the coffin of the pathetic and ridiculous comparison between Covid and Flu? Here are the hospitalisations by Covid (2023) and Flu (2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2017) in England. (data from SARI

My plan if I need to be admitted. HAI is NOT acceptable. Pay for private PCR on the day I get admitted. Prior to that, I will make it crystal clear what I expect. Bring ionmax 1000 in. N95 all the way. Discharge- another PCR. Daily RATS and stay at home. I have cctv as proof.

There is a GP alert for Acute Post-Streoptococcal Glomeronephritis. When are these healthcare professionals going to JOIN THE DOTS? Repeated COVID infections affect immune system and other systems. Stop Covid spread. NOW! Wear a mask/respirator.

Two. Why spend time with an elderly patient immediately after an interstate holiday? People were more Covid conscious in the past. Of course, no mask worn this time. The reason: No symptoms, so not sick. People shed the virus 2 days before symptoms start. With new variants, 🤷🏽‍♀️

Great! No need to follow up notifiable diseases anymore. Have chlamydia? No worries. Start antibiotic today, have sex the next day without condoms. Does anyone see how ridiculous CDC is getting?

@CDCgov @jesseintl 11) Think about this— what if the CDC says - 📌‘NO NEED FOR CONDOMS ANYMORE IF YOUR HERPES OR SYPHILIS SYMPTOMS ARE IMPROVING SINCE YESTERDAY!!!’📌—because that is exactly the analogous policy the @CDCgov is now enacting with their new ‘to hell with it’ respiratory guidelines!

Look. Dr Claire also has never seen anything like this in all her years in respiratory medicine. And she’s a very experienced dr. Join the dots. It is the covid. Follow science and medics who tell the truth.

@PeteUK7 I’m sorry Pete. Met family friends who are unvaccinated, caught Covid 3 times and takes ivermectin. Told me to go catch Covid while in Australia so I get over with. I may not get ARDS again and may not need ventilator. I need to not live in fear. We are in this together.

@Michael59503746 Seriously. Are we really the tin foil hat people because it really seems like it. How on earth are they so certain they are in a vacuum free of Covid and everyone is 100% Covid free??? I’m. So. Tired. Mask you aerosol scientists!!! Mask!!!

I am immunocompromised. I have not been sick since 2020. I am vaccinated +++. I use a respirator, use hepa filters and I know how to avoid getting covid. But boy am I fed up of a nation perpetuating sick citizens. Leaders who can’t tell the truth and can’t do the right thing.

Govts telling us that there’s a covid wave. An airborne virus. But still mask is not needed but let’s wash hands. Let’s ponder for a minute. To stop an airborne virus, which means virus is in the air- how does hand washing help? Why not a mask? Which filters out virus?

To those unaware, the acute phase of infection is not worrisome anymore. It is the chronic phase of the infection. Does flu do this to you? Covid is the 3rd cause of death in Australia, not flu. Top two being heart disease and dementia. Covid contributes to the top two too!!!

@CollignonPeter I wear a fit tested N95 at work and I check the seals every time I don it. Not caught covid yet. Do life jackets or parachutes work if you just simply don it not following instructions? If my n95 is not sealing, I put a new one. There’s no RCTs on life jackets, why wear one?

I find it fascinating how the public blindly follows the govt and put all faith in them to keep safe, move on and live their normal lives. I shouldn’t need to explain to my patients why I need them masked in my consult room. I’m the doctor. Pandemic is medical. My lane.
