1/ 11𧾠Covid is a vascular disease đЏ. We need to stop thinking of it primarily as a lung đŤ disease. I hear lung Doctors says âwe donât see much on the chest X-rays in #longcovidâ. The rheumatologists say âwe donât see raised inflammation on the blood tests in #LongCovidâ

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere
Time to take this challenge inside the court where it can't just be washed away. Most of you know what a farse my 10 years of whistleblowing litigation has been. The scale of this problem around the UK is beyond comprehension. Now a cardiologist and a GP have joined forces and

@drclairetaylor I just thought "surely that happens in adults, too"

And AANS rather than AAND. Or Taylorâs syndrome đ¤ˇđťââď¸ since no one else is talking about these things.

There is no similar diagnosis for adults but I have seen the same thing happen. Perhaps we should call it AAND⌠Itâs all inflammation affecting the brain

These are not ânaughtyâ children. They have not developed depression overnight. Parents-keep an eye out for how your child is after an infection. Teachers- such a good course to do so you can identify it Diagnosis means better management. There are some treatments.

âME is not a mental disorder. Those of us who live with it mourn every day for our former lives that have been dismantled by this illness. We dream of a cure that can give us our lives back.â https://t.co/8DCEPuakfb

I felt sorry for myself today- with Covid-19 again. But really Iâm scared. With luck I will return back to my normal in a few weeks. If not- I join the ranks. The descriptions scare me. Everyone tells a similar story. A hell that no one is helping them to escape.

She was fierce, clever and FURIOUS, with good reason. Her blogs called out the nonsense that passes for care. It called out the decades of systemic neglect I could feel her pain in the words đ She asked friends to read about her illness They didnâtâŚ

The subject being? Leaving people for years feeling like theyâre dying. Then telling them itâs their fault. Telling them to try harder. Bio-psycho-social Rewarding those who call them hysterical. Ignoring the science. Celebrating the mediocre. She deserved better You all do

These are Bridgetâs words. I am so sad to hear of her passing, and several other #MECFS and #LongCovid people this weekđ˘ I hope she is at peace, out of painđđť Her words are some of the best written about the subject.

Thread on therapeutics for neuroinflammation in ME/CFS and long Covid Both existing&wish list. Kindly reordered from a messy reply into saveable slides. *always consult a doctor about medication ** I hope this helps someone. Thanks @RorPreston for the question.
In response to my question 'What do you see as the most promising medications for neuro-inflammation in ME'? @drclairetaylor wrote a brilliant thread Unfortunately the order was all scrambled, so with the help of ChatGPT have tried to put it in the correct order! đ§ľ1/n

This is pretty amazing. Rent out air purifiers for free in Edinburgh. For prevention of Covid-19 but also good for pollution too. Whatâs not to like đ¤ˇđťââď¸ Great effort.
We believe clean air should be accessible to all & weâre so excited to support Air Library Scotlandâs initiative to rent out air purifiers for free across Edinburgh. If youâre in Edinburgh, you can try one out for yourself. Request form: https://t.co/8yUCPqkO0A

And not one word about Covid, repeated infections, Long Covid, all its multi system disabling effects in the debate about Welfare Bill! And consequently nothing about urgent need for major preventative measures in hospitals, schools and all workplaces. Complete incompetence.
@BBCNews A virus that appeared in 2020, that has not gone away and we refuse to collect data on. Long Covid is the main driver of the increase since 2020 and was expected. By 2023 2.5 million were âeconomically inactiveâ due to long term sickness.

Neuroinflammation. Brains on fire. đĽ I see the consequences of Covid-19 infection every day. How many studies do we need before we say itâs unethical to pretend Covid-19 is no longer an issue? Scans help us to âseeâ the damage. In real life to âseeâ this is heartbreaking.
A NEW research analyzed multimodal MRI scans of 76 COVID survivors versus 51 healthy controls. The study found focal atrophy in the right basal ganglia and limbic regions, and decreased white matter integrity in tracts like the uncinate fasciculus and cingulum that was more

A lot of news from Covid inquiry blaming lockdown for people not being able to see relatives. The truth is; airborne transmission was covered up & Gov't hadn't properly prepared for an airborne pandemic. People could have done this entirely safely with the right mitigations. 1/2

Early this year my MP sent questions to DfE on air quality in schools and its effects on attendance. Q4 I asked if UKHSA guidance to schools should be updated in light of the high levels of illness in schools (during an ongoing pandemic) /1

Donât get me wrong. Work,Eating healthy&Exercise is good for people. IF healthy enough. Nearly all my patients did the above. Got a virus. Exertion now makes Them sicker. They rely on the social contract not to starve. This is being broken. End.
