DC Council unanimously voted on bill enabling early release of rapists. Congress is preparing to review the bill. As a locally elected DC Democrat, I encourage Senate Democrats to clearly state that rapists should serve their full prison sentences. #DCCriminalCode
I’ll soon introduce a bill that would stop this insane move and put every Democrat in the senate on record about reducing sentences for convicted criminals.

DC Council unanimously says yes on first vote on new criminal code. The US Attorney still objects to lowering maximum sentences for carjackings and robberies, though council says new code matches actual sentences currently being handed down in DC courts.
