reminds me of this quote by St. Augustine “People travel to wonder at the height of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering.”

Most teams are sitting on piles of low-hanging automation fruit. If you’re trying to justify the ROI, you’re probably overthinking it. I talked about this on Applied, the @tenex_labs podcast with Alex Lieberman (@businessbarista) and @ArmanHezarkhani. We built an agent that

AI agents are a force multiplier for the things that we’re already good at and the things we want to do more of. AI of course will let anyone get going in a new field that they’re interested in, and let them expand into adjacent spaces that weren’t possible before. The frontend

AI doesn’t erase expertise, it compounds it. “Be really good at a particular field, and then AI is merely a turbocharger of your capability in that field.” History shows it’s always the experts who benefit first, then the tools spread and more people become experts. This is

Despite what you hear, skilled jobs are very much not going away because of AI. AI agents let a skilled worker drive meaningfully more output per unit of input. The value you can produce with AI is correlated with your ability to generate the right prompt, the ability to review

How we do this at Coinbase: - Have strong, clear values. Reinforce them often, to staff and in public. - Keep a high bar for hiring. Never compromise. Prioritize mission/culture alignment. - Empower DRIs so people can act like owners and get things done. - Get teams together

@EdLatimore No one rushes to spot the guy still deciding whether to lift. But load up some weight, show you're willing to struggle, and people show up. Not to carry the full weight, but to keep you moving when it gets heavy. Respect is earned under pressure.

No one wants to help you get started. It's not selfish. The point is to see if you are willing to put in the work to be worth investing time and resources into. But once you prove that you're going to make it, then people want to help you make it faster.

AI will surpass humans on everything they can be trained to do therefore, you must develop that which can't be trained or taught, but can be learned (art) art feels like play to you, but looks like work to others to mitigate AI-driven disruption, develop great art through play
