Hello everyone, Michael Keller here (the son that's helped run Dad's social media since we started in 2013). Thank you so much for all the beautiful memories, stories, and tributes written over the past two weeks about Dad. The original vision for creating these social media 1/3
I have Stage IV pancreatic cancer. But it is endlessly comforting to have a God who is both infinitely more wise and more loving than I am. He has plenty of good reasons for everything he does and allows that I cannot know, and therein is my hope and strength.
Timothy J. Keller, husband, father, grandfather, mentor, friend, pastor, and scholar died this morning at home. Dad waited until he was alone with Mom. She kissed him on the forehead and he breathed his last breath. We take comfort in some of his last words...
Health Update: Today, Dad is being discharged from the hospital to receive hospice care at home. Over the past few days, he has asked us to pray with him often. He expressed many times through prayer his desire to go home to be with Jesus. His family is very sad because we... 1/3
This is a brilliant example of how to be a Christian in the public square. Notice the witness, but in a form the culture can handle. We should desire to have more Christians in these spaces and give them grace as they operate.
Lord,
I worry because I forget your wisdom.
I resent because I forget your mercy.
I covet because I forget your beauty.
I sin because I forget your holiness.
I fear because I forget your sovereignty.
You always remember me. Help me to remember you.
Amen...
After reading and studying the Bible for 50 years--and weighing all the criticisms of it--I am convinced it is the Word of God, completely true in all it teaches, beautifully cohesive, with the supernatural power to transform us and enable us to commune with God.
all wanted more time, but we know he has very little at this point. In prayer, he said two nights ago, "I'm thankful for all the people who’ve prayed for me over the years. I'm thankful for my family, that loves me. I’m thankful for the time God has given me, but I’m ready... 2/3
Friends-
This month, I am celebrating the 2-year anniversary of my diagnosis with pancreatic cancer. I can call it a celebration with justification as the chemotherapies have reduced the stage 4 cancer that was found and God has seen it fit to give me more time.
Dear Praying Friends, Kathy & I want to thank you for your many expressions of support, and for your faithfulness in praying for us. We have been acutely aware of those prayers, and God has heard them-As of yesterday, I have finished six rounds of chemo for pancreatic cancer 1/5
Every day for the past month on my Twitter feed there have been many expressions of love and commitments to pray for me and my family during this time of my cancer treatment. Kathy and I could not be more thankful for them!
Thank you all so much for continuing to pray for me during my treatment for pancreatic cancer. God has been very gracious in answering those prayers, and my most recent CT scans last Monday showed more improvement. My doctor is both surprised and delighted that 1/3
If you say: I believed in God, I trusted God, and He didn't come through-You only trusted God to meet your agenda, not a God who could set your agenda.
Cancer Update: I had a scan in May that was extremely encouraging, showing no cancer growth under less aggressive chemotherapy. A surgery at the end of May removed several nodules that had remained unchanged for 9 months.
Dear Praying Friends,
I will shortly be returning to the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD in order to spend April doing a variation of the immunotherapy that I received last June. It was successful in eradicating 99% of the tumors. However, new tumors have developed.
Two seemingly contradictory currents mark our society.
1. There is a denunciation of all claims of absolute truth.
2. Yet there is also a fanaticism in which one position or group is absolutely right, nothing is ambiguous, and divergent views should be destroyed
Roman Empire: 'You Christians are too exclusive. You threaten the social order because you won’t honor all deities.'
Modern West: 'You Christians are too exclusive. You threaten the social order because you won’t honor all identities.
I deeply appreciate prayer for my situation! But my main purpose in the last post was to show that having a God who in some ways is beyond our comprehension (esp regarding evil and suffering) is more of a spiritual strength than it is an intellectual problem.
Lord,
I worry because I forget your wisdom.
I resent because I forget your mercy.
I covet because I forget your beauty.
I sin because I forget your holiness.
I fear because I forget your sovereignty.
You always remember me. Help me to remember you.
Amen...
Please pray for me and for our family. Kathy and I will be displaced from our home and separated from one another, as I will be an inpatient. Your continued prayers for truly miraculous effects of the procedure and minimal side effects would be very much appreciated.
Tim is out of the hospital and recovering at home after complications from his treatment. Please continue to pray during this slow recovery.

Sex, as prescribed in the Bible, is a way of saying, I see all of your imperfections and I am still completely, exclusively, and permanently committed to you. You are naked to me in all ways, and I still accept you forever.

Tolerance is not approving an opinion you do not hold. It's about treating the person --who's saying what you can powerfully disagree with--with respect, humility, and love.
Contemporary people tend to examine the Bible, looking for things they can’t accept; but Christians should reverse that, allowing the Bible to examine us, looking for things God can’t accept. Then the sweet grace offered, the beauty of his love, will mean something to you.
We humbly beg that you all continue your prayers for the effectiveness of the treatment and minimal side effects to accompany it. Your prayers and concern mean more than we can express. Thanks so much!

Truth without love is harshness; it gives us information but in such a way that we cannot really hear it. Love without truth is sentimentality; it supports and affirms us but keeps us in denial about our flaws.
The sin of slavery is so obvious to us now, but for 1000s of years everyone saw it as just a part of life. It's arrogant to think that 100 years from now our ancestors won’t see us as having similar blind spots. What are they?
A brief health update on my Dad: After being released from the hospital on Saturday, he returned late Sunday night to receive additional care. Please continue to pray for his recovery.

Nothing more important for a Christian to do than to read right through the whole Bible over and over and over, at the very least once a year. You have to keep checking and refining your beliefs by immersion in the Scripture.
Bible-believing religious people often miss the gospel. Just because you believe in the Bible doesn't mean you understand it. Over and over the tax collectors, prostitutes, and the amoral come to Jesus, while the religious miss who he is.
If Jesus didn’t complain when he received a life infinitely worse than he deserved, how can I complain while I experience a life infinity better than I deserve?
Please pray for our trust and dependence on God, for his providential oversight of the medical preparations now in process, and for our desire to glorify God in whatever comes our way. Thank You.

Quick Health Update on Dad-
Dad is currently dealing with the side effects of an immunotherapy treatment that he is undergoing. We ask that you continue to pray for his healing and for guiding the decisions of his doctors and medical team who continue to provide...1/
You can't forgive somebody without absorbing the cost. Either that person pays for it or you do. On the cross, God didn't just forgive us, he paid the cost himself.
One of the greatest injustices we do to our young people is to ask them to be conservative. Christianity is not conservative, but revolutionary.-- Francis Schaeffer
Lord, so many of my problems stem from not remembering you. I forget your wisdom and so I worry. I forget your grace and so I get complacent. I forget your mercy and so I get resentful of others. Help me remember who you are every moment of the day. Amen.
If you have money, power, and status today, it is largely due to the century and place in which you were born, as well as to your talents and capacities and health----none of which you earned. In short, all your resources are in the end the gift of God.
