In 1942, Gen Anders led 100k Poles from Siberian gulags through the Middle East to Italy joining Allies, where they triumphed at Monte Cassino in 1944 against the Nazis. It was a great honour to show his bronze bust at @NAM_London to the @RBKCMayor and Mayoress of Kensington.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Lord Tebbit’s passing. A survivor of an IRA bombing, a former RAF pilot, and a seasoned politician, he will be missed. He often remarked to me that the Battle of Britain would not have been won without the vital contributions of the Polish pilots.

In the face of darkness, a little light 🕯 Two Polish airmen, exiles themselves, were struck by the plight of children whose homes had been destroyed in the Coventry Blitz. They paid for a party for 200 children in Oxford Town Hall, and waited upon the children themselves.
