Having spent last couple of days being briefed by ministers & local health chiefs I will support the tier system. The approach is sensible. It's a blow for many local businesses but we've got to squeeze out the virus. Better a few extra weeks of restrictions than prolonging agony.

As a constituency MP, I will champion the bid by @ABPHumber. This bid includes the UK's largest port complex and will provide new and exciting job and investment opportunities.

It's now vital that we have a meaningful bidding window so that the best bids can be developed. This is not just a policy for England but the whole of the UK and I urge the Devolved Administrations to seize the freeports opportunity in their nations as well.
