In 1942, Gen Anders led 100k Poles from Siberian gulags through the Middle East to Italy joining Allies, where they triumphed at Monte Cassino in 1944 against the Nazis. It was a great honour to show his bronze bust at @NAM_London to the @RBKCMayor and Mayoress of Kensington.

Today we mark VJ Day 80 at KTH. We encourage everyone across K&C to take a moment to reflect during the national two-minute silence today at 12 noon to pay tribute to those who fought in the Far East and the Pacific in the Second World War. Their legacy must never be forgotten.
