It's obvious to many besides just @ESYudkowsky how many different dangers AI presents. Even if it's just the human misuse of AI, let along AGI taking on a life of it's own. We are putting society at risk by not agreeing to an AIRC right away.

Within this thread the author references nuclear as an analogy, but does so the wrong way. In the US if you want to do anything with Nuclear it goes through the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). We emphatically need an AI Regulatory Commission!.
In the past I have given credit where it was due to Eliezer Yudkowsky for not explicitly advocating violent solutions to the problems with AI development that by his own admission only he and a few other (mostly nontechnical) people see on the horizon. He crossed that line today

Is this real? If so, what in the world is happening at our universities? As a parent of a college age student, I’m concerned. This demonstrates a total disconnect from any common sense, not to mention complete disrespect for true diversity improvement efforts.
Today, @uscsocialwork sent out this letter announcing that they will no longer use the word “field” (as in “conducting field work”) because it’s perceived as racist. Is this with merit or empty virtue signaling? @elonmusk @IngrahamAngle
