📣 Germany is close to reversing its principled opposition to mass surveillance & private message scanning, & backing the Chat Control bill. This could end private —& Signal—in the EU. Time is short and they're counting on obscurity: please let German politicians know how

We are alarmed by reports that Germany is on the verge of a catastrophic about-face, reversing its longstanding and principled opposition to the EU’s Chat Control proposal which, if passed, could spell the end of the right to privacy in Europe. https://t.co/015qmQnIS2

EU's Chat Control proposal is to effectively ban end to end encryption since it demands that governments can read all msgs. I find this to be not only insane, but feasibly impossible. Breaking the whole internet. Yet it got voted on last week, and just narrowly stopped. Whew!

The EU’s Chat Control proposal has been stopped, for now, thanks to opposition from Germany and Luxembourg. But the fight isn’t over. We’ve been opposing this dangerous attempt to weaken encryption since 2022, and the EU will likely try again.

No one should believe that Donald Trump’s policy on Ukraine has changed. He still is doing all he can to help Putin win. He is refusing to support more aid for Ukraine and blocking a Russia sanctions package. Trump continues to carry Putin’s water daily.

Loomer has a direct line to Donald Trump. Back in April, she met with Trump in the Oval Office, and a day later a number of top national security staffers were fired, including the head of the NSA. Yes, these are the musings of a crazy person, but one with influence.

@koryodynasty @rdelriodaher The fact that we put these clearly not dangerous people in chains is a national disgrace and possibly irreparable international incident. For no reason and against our own interest. We're run by proud incompetent assholes.

I can’t hear the question here but Hegseth calling Europe far-flung and only vaguely connected to U.S. security is willful ignorance and Yalta-level appeasement of Russian aggression. Both world wars started in eastern Europe. Poland was invaded in Sept 1939 from both sides.

What about Russia attacking Poland? Hegseth: We've projected power for a long time in far-flung places that had a nebulous connection to our own security in the homeland. We're securing the homeland.
