đŁ Germany is close to reversing its principled opposition to mass surveillance & private message scanning, & backing the Chat Control bill. This could end private â& Signalâin the EU. Time is short and they're counting on obscurity: please let German politicians know how
We are alarmed by reports that Germany is on the verge of a catastrophic about-face, reversing its longstanding and principled opposition to the EUâs Chat Control proposal which, if passed, could spell the end of the right to privacy in Europe. https://t.co/015qmQnIS2

EU's Chat Control proposal is to effectively ban end to end encryption since it demands that governments can read all msgs. I find this to be not only insane, but feasibly impossible. Breaking the whole internet. Yet it got voted on last week, and just narrowly stopped. Whew!
The EUâs Chat Control proposal has been stopped, for now, thanks to opposition from Germany and Luxembourg. But the fight isnât over. Weâve been opposing this dangerous attempt to weaken encryption since 2022, and the EU will likely try again.

Microsoft announced it is blocking Israelâs access to technology which allowed the mass surveillance of Palestinian civilians, following an investigation we wrote. The first time that a major US tech company sanctions the Israeli military for violating Palestinian rights >

No one should believe that Donald Trumpâs policy on Ukraine has changed. He still is doing all he can to help Putin win. He is refusing to support more aid for Ukraine and blocking a Russia sanctions package. Trump continues to carry Putinâs water daily.

Loomer has a direct line to Donald Trump. Back in April, she met with Trump in the Oval Office, and a day later a number of top national security staffers were fired, including the head of the NSA. Yes, these are the musings of a crazy person, but one with influence.

Putting these South Koreans in chains and detaining them for 7 days when they had valid visas and were here to help get a massive factory set up is genuinely suicidal US behavior
@koryodynasty @rdelriodaher The fact that we put these clearly not dangerous people in chains is a national disgrace and possibly irreparable international incident. For no reason and against our own interest. We're run by proud incompetent assholes.

I canât hear the question here but Hegseth calling Europe far-flung and only vaguely connected to U.S. security is willful ignorance and Yalta-level appeasement of Russian aggression. Both world wars started in eastern Europe. Poland was invaded in Sept 1939 from both sides.
What about Russia attacking Poland? Hegseth: We've projected power for a long time in far-flung places that had a nebulous connection to our own security in the homeland. We're securing the homeland.

@MideaAmerica I guess @Midea figures thereâs no need to be too diligent about this recall since Trump is president and dismantling consumer protection with everything else.
@ABC Good luck actually getting your unit refunded. @MideaAmerica @Midea is dragging their feet on each recall request in hopes youâll just give up on getting your money back all together. They donât want to part with a single penny of your money.

Seems others are having @MideaAmerica recall troubles, too.
@USCPSC STATUS UPDATE: Midea still has not processed a refund five weeks after my recall registration was approved. As instructed, I waited until the approval letter to call and ask for a physical check instead of a virtual card. After waiting until today for the check to arrive, I

Important win. A court rejected Googleâs effort to overturn a unanimous jury verdict finding that Google illegally monopolized key markets. The court also noted that digital monopolies can enjoy the fruits of their illegal conduct even after it stops. This means that a remedy

I spend a lot of time thinking about what you could call the 1890 coalition: the farmers, labor unions, and small businesses that pushed Congress to pass the Sherman Act and the Clayton Act and Norris-LaGuardia and Robinson-Patman. Itâs that coalition that brought antitrust law
The Iowa farmer who canât start his combine because John Deere locked its software has a hell of a lot in common with the driver in Queens who canât work because Uber and Lyft locked him out of their apps. We used to have these coalitions. @linamkhan says letâs bring them back

Weakening Harvard is not in the national interests of the United States of America. If we are going to compete with China in the 21st century, we have to strengthen our best universities, not destroy them.
