Delighted to work on this piece with excellent colleagues from @georgeinstitute & @imperialcollege. Building on this, we are holding our first MESSAGE Maternity session this week to explore the ethical, legal and regulatory barriers to including pregnant women in clinical trials.
Sex and gender inclusive research enables robust science and better health outcomes. Sustainable change requires improved study design, market incentives, and patient involvement, @DrJaneHirst @bykatewomersley @ewsmullins and Rachel Hulme.

Good to see outcomes are improving for babies in the UK, this is in contrast with maternal mortality which is increasing. Inequalities remain within both. Saving Babies Lives care bundles appear to have been effective, changes in approach are now needed to save women's lives
Stillbirth rates were similar across most trusts and health boards, but neonatal mortality rates varied more. You can view the rates for each trust and health board in our data viewer:

It makes sense. Our birth options clinic was run by our superb birth centre matron, but it didnāt make sense to have midwifery without obstetrics, so we teamed up at the end of 2024 and the feedback from attendees has been really good. @ImperialPeople.
Yesterday @ciarancrowe and I joined forces to start a new clinic ābirth choicesā @EKMaternity. Cons obstetrician & Cons midwife working together with service users supporting choice around how they want to birth. Inter professional working at its best! @CudjoeMC @SarahHa88622902
