Following our influential report on the diagnosis of conditions in babies with diverse skin tones, @ERC_resus this week updated its guidelines for the diagnosis of cyanosis in newborns, specifically stating that colour of skin should not be used to inform diagnoses. 1/3 🧵

We’re delighted to be recognised at the 2025 @HSJptsafety Awards for our work on identifying and tackling racial bias in pulse oximetry. Our work led to changes in guidance and to the UK government initiating a broader independent review on equity in medical devices.
