As far as I can tell from this story, no one threatened Kavanaugh, and what he experienced is a fraction of what abortion providers experience from anti-choice activists as they do their jobs every day.

I don't know a single journalist who is fine with publishing things they know to be false. Maybe you should get better friends.

I worked within this media sector for more than a decade and have friends at every outlet. I'm not saying this for effect or exaggeration: Most of them don't care if they publish lies and false stories as long as it's targeting political enemies. They see that as their function.

No employee has the same incentive as the owner of a business, even if they have some tiny bit of equity. Elon should be sleeping on the floor but people who have no significant ownership stake should not.

This is gonna hurt not just Twitter but Tesla and SpaceX too. Would you want to go to a company run by a chaos monkey?

This story is just bonkers. GOP chair can’t vote because GOP voter suppression strategy requires ID and he won’t get a real ID because he thinks IDs are the mark of the beast.

Most of Alabama GOP chairman John Wahl’s extended family have been blocked from voting because they won’t show photo ID. In a 2016 deposition, his brother explained why: They consider photo ID the mark of the beast foretold in Revelation. 🧵

I'm not gonna RT B*n Sh*piro, who's trying to mob me right now but wow, it's sad what passes for conservative "thought" these days. Bill Buckley you are not, sir.

Apparently being pro-democracy is a “progressive” position now. The goalpost moving has become so extreme that the goalposts are now on Mars.

@ChristinaPushaw No, no one would. That is a stupid red herring right wingers make up because they have no reasonable arguments.

Right wingers like GG are so accustomed to being able to work the refs that they go ballistic when someone like Ben refuses to both sides things—particularly when they work for mainstream outlets, which reliably both sides things.

Publishing bigoted stuff in the name of “viewpoint diversity” for its own sake is just nihilism. The whole point of viewpoint diversity to arrive at a better approximation of the truth, not to create pointless foils to truth.

Watched Glass Onion last night and even though it was filmed way before Elon took over Twitter, it is hilariously prescient about this exact thing:

I took out loans to pay for college at Duke, the only college I applied to. I was the first person in my family to go to college, so it's not like any of us had any idea how student loans worked, and I had to figure out the applications myself and give to my parents.
