My sense is that many people don't realize that a lawyer can't just show up in court and say anything they want. There are actually rules about what can be introduced and what must be excluded, and feminists have spent many decades trying to change those rules so that irrelevant.

I also have bad news for anyone who is an anti-PD prison abolitionist because you think rapists don't deserve representation: If you abolish prisons, rapists aren't going to go to jail :(.

My hot take on the public defender discourse is:.-PDs are good, actually. -Even the worst criminals deserve representation. -Rules of evidence should exclude the kind of irrelevant misogyny and slut-shaming that have been markers of sexual assault defenses for generations.
The public defender discourse is insane. What do you mean you think public defenders should intentionally do a worse job on “bad” cases like rape? What?.

Traditional marriage certainly makes men’s lives easier, to be fair. (It’s also more complicated than this and really depends on who you marry. A lot of privileges come with marriage, too - my life is definitely easier in many ways being married).
Marriage, for the most part, doesn't make your life easier at all - it introduces many challenges. "Trad" posters telling you to get married and have family are asking you to assume a burden and give up much. Only you can decide if this tradeoff is worth it.

My hot take is that violent crime is a real problem in many American cities and that’s because of guns.
I think the center-left, which has controlled most major American cities for the last three decades, should simply take credit for dramatically reducing crime instead of blaming the left, which has not held much power, for a crime problem that is mostly not real
