The mystery of Dark Statistics has vexed statisticians for decades. It is hypothesized that as much as 95% of all statistics are dark statistics! These elusive statistics are invisible but we know they MUST exist due to their influence on the visible data.

did you know that the reason tattoos remain visible for so long is bc of MACROPHAGES? I thought it was bc the ink stained long-living fibroblasts, but no! dermal macrophages phagocytose the ink and store it in vacuoles, where it is still visible from the surface.

A great interview with @BiobotAnalytics
In February, Biobot's @MarianaMatusG & @NewshaGhaeli turned their focus from the opioid epidemic to the #COVID19 pandemic. Watch highlights from @mlevram's interview with the co-founders at @FortuneMPW:

so excited to chat with @gibbological about sewage as a tool to improve public health! in the next 5-10 years, every major city will be using wastewater based epidemiology to improve lives. from covid19 to opioid addiction, the opportunities are endless in this emerging field!
Today's the day. @MIT's @ejalm discusses population-scale #COVID19 tracking using data collected in sewage. (Great video below.) Tickets are only $5 -- register now ( https://t.co/67UEX7KpnQ) & we'll see you at 6pm PT! @THSEA @gibbological

In the coming days, it is likely that many people who interacted with Trump or his team this week will report having COVID. Anyone in this cluster should save specimens for sequencing-based epidemiology-- to better quantify the consequences of this administration's recklessness.

On March 12, Biobot put out the call to action to use sewage to map #COVID19 outbreaks and provide real-time data for governments & communities to get ahead of the crisis. 6 months later, we've analyzed ~3,000 samples from over 400 locations in the US. #BetterDataSmarterDecisions
Our team put down their thoughts on how our technology can help respond to the #COVID19 outbreak. Read more: https://t.co/j8BfSgXpwY
