Can we stop pretending palliative care gives everyone a peacful or dignified death. Drowning in ypur own secretions because you have been heavily drugged is not dignified
It is not too late to put the brakes on assisted dying, and focus on improved palliative, social and end-of-life care https://t.co/eKVlyfTxj6

So what you’re saying Kirstie is that resident doctors are important. If only @wesstreeting recognised this and got around that table
@bbcnickrobinson @TheBMA @thomasdolphin @BBCr4today @nhsprovider You’re kidding me!!! This strike is specifically timed to have maximum impact. There WILL be people who don’t get home for Christmas, I remember what it was like having an ailing parent decline over a mere Bank Holiday Wknd, with no strike, so God knows what will happen now 😡

In other news, the turnout was by our figures 11% higher and DHSC's 9% higher. I'm told the only reason they were able to claim the activity targets is because they included the day before and day after strikes this time.
Hard not to see this as anything other than an upfront barefaced lie of omission. @DHSCmedia you should be ashamed of yourselves. Are you civil servants? https://t.co/LbBN3RrMNu

I'm actually embarrassed to work in the NHS. No dignity for patients, people die before coming to hospital, unemployed doctors, doctor rota gaps filled by anyone who's not a doctor, almost every hospital in the UK can't hit cancer targets yet CEOs are on £150k+ increasing every
NHS under severe strain as RCP warns doctors are being asked to “perform the impossible”: 🚨59% of consultants report vacancies 🚨83% say rota gaps harm patient care 🚨59% treated patients in corridors Corridor care unsafe; urgent workforce & social care action needed

The most common ED scenario after ROSC is palliative care. For patients in care homes raises the question about why CPR started and no advanced care plan. Maybe every case should be investigated as an adverse event - a missed opportunity to plan appropriate care?
🧠 POST-RESUSCITATION CARE They survived the arrest. Now it’s time to: 💨 Oxygen right ❤️ Support the heart 🌡️ Control temperature 🧠 Assess the brain 🫂 Guide families 💝 Consider donation Care continues after ROSC. And that care matters. Read here: https://t.co/OLiai6snqO

Dear @UKLabour MPs, if you think Wes Streeting is the answer to the current woes of the government, you are sorely mistaken.

So let me get this right: @RachelReevesMP wants to tax work, pension savings and electric cars? @RachelReevesMP doesn’t want to tax wealth, unearned income or capital gains? And she wants to be re-elected?

EV drivers would face 3p-a-mile charge on top of other road taxes to offset falling revenue from petrol and diesel cars

Horrified to discover @EstherMcVey1 was an MP who was paid by the public. Thats money that could have gone to our veterans
Bought my poppy as I do every year (& always more than one as I invariably lose my paper ones!) However, horrified to discover The Royal British Legion (RBL) has a Head of Diversity & Inclusion at a wage of about £65k - that’s a lot of poppies to sell just for that non-job wage!

Huge congratulations to our former Chair and President Clare Gerada on becoming a Crossbench Peer in the House of Lords. A lifelong College member and now a Baroness – but first and foremost a grassroots GP who continues to deliver exceptional care to your patients and to fight

Why does the government not want people to see qualified doctors?
Tens of thousands could avoid having to go to hospital every year, according to a new report, if more pharmacists are given the power to carry out medication. The National Pharmacy Association says expanding their remit could save the NHS billions. @nickdixonitv reports.
