When IT systems go down, GPs step up. With ingenuity and quick thinking, they keep services running, protect patient safety, and prevent delays in care. Business continuity isn’t just a plan—it’s a mindset. 💡💻 #PrimaryCare #PatientSafety #GPResilience

NHS IT failures aren't just frustrating—they're heartbreaking. Every crash, every frozen screen means lost time, missed care, & exhausted GPs. We’re trying to deliver 21st-century healthcare on systems stuck in the past. Patients & doctors deserve better 💻 #NHSIT #ARM2025 #BMA

Today MPs vote on the Assisted Dying Bill—a deeply sensitive issue. ⚖️ For: dignity, choice, relief from suffering ⚠️ Against: risks to the vulnerable, ethical concerns, worsening health inequality 🚫 If passed—this won’t be part of general practice. #AssistedDyingBill @rcgp

🌿 This #CleanAirDay, let’s not forget the vital role of general practice. From promoting active travel to reducing unnecessary prescriptions, GPs are on the front line of protecting both our health and our air. Clean air starts in the community. 💚 @rcgp @BMA_GP #AirPollution

🚫 GPs no longer need to perform a rectal exam (DRE) 👆 for prostate cancer if PSA is raised — it's outdated & adds little value. PSA → referral (MRI) is now the preferred path. DRE may still be used if PSA is normal but suspicion remains. #ProstateCancer @ProstateUK @rcgp

GPs are stretched to breaking point 🥹expected to deliver top care with minimal resources in a crumbling system 💣 Media blame & political neglect are eroding trust. Patients & GPs must unite to raise awareness and rebuild the vital bond we once shared ✊🏽 @BMA_GP @Parody_RCGP

As a GP I know that black men in the UK face double the risk of prostate cancer but are less likely to be diagnosed early. Prostate Cancer UK is tackling this with mobile clinics, targeted campaigns, & screening trials to close the gap ✊🏽#ProstateCancer #HealthEquity @ProstateUK

Digital transformation isn’t a luxury — it’s a necessity to future-proof general practice. Let’s stop patching the system and build one that works. 3/3 #GPIT #NHSdigital #FutureOfPrimaryCare #HealthTech #InvestInGPs @BMA_GP @rcgp

👩‍⚕️ A GP shouldn’t need 10 clicks to send a prescription or spend 40 minutes toggling between systems that don’t talk to each other. If we want general practice to be efficient, accessible, and sustainable, we need:👇🏽 1/3

General practice handles >300M appointments/year, keeping the UK healthy & productive. Yet it receives just ~5.6% of the NHS budget, despite its impact on GDP through ⬇️ sick days & hospital demand. 📈 Investment in core GPs is investment in the economy @wesstreeting @BMA_GP
