@ElshadKarbasi As an F1 on general surgery, once tasked with opening 500 of those small packets of sugar because the consultant told me to cover a patient’s prolapsed stoma with sugar to help reduce the swelling, and the caterers wouldn’t let me have a bag of sugar.

I answer the on call bleep with "Hi, it's Tanya ENT doctor, how can I help?". I think it's reasonable that I ask exactly whom I'm speaking to as I take a referral for a patient. I also find it's interesting someone is offended by me clarifying their roles.
