We are excited to service the Celestia Ecosystem 🫡
The Astria RaaS makes deploying a rollup as easy, and as permissionless, as deploying a smart contract.

RaaS platforms make deploying a high-throughput blockchain as easy as deploying a smart contract.
Deploy today:
In the past 24 hours we’ve seen unprecedented demand from individuals deploying their own rollups.
Over 500 rollups have been successfully deployed.
We’ve paused new rollup deployments for the remainder of the holidays, we’ll be back in the new year.
1/ Astria Dusknet marked the first time developers could permissionlessly deploy rollups to a remote shared sequencer network.
We have now successfully completed a network regenesis of our devnet to Dusknet-2 🎉
Read on about Dusknet-2 improvements👇

1/ We are excited to announce the launch of Astria Dusknet, our persistent devnet 🏙️
Dusknet marks the first time users can permissionlessly deploy rollups to a remote shared sequencer network.
We’re excited to introduce the Astria development cluster, containing everything needed to launch a rollup on Astria’s shared sequencer network.
The release of our development cluster is a major step towards making deploying a rollup as easy as deploying a smart contract.
1/ We're thrilled about the
@CelestiaOrg
mainnet launch today!
Astria was inspired by
@Jskybowen
's work during his time at Celestia.
The vision from the very beginning was to make deploying a rollup as easy as deploying a smart contract.
Dusk-3, Astria's third devnet, is live + contains the following improvements:
‣ Improved stability + security measures
‣ Robust monitoring for transparency ()
‣ Running a minimum of 4 validating nodes
1/ Rollups should be decentralized by default.
Sequencers have been adopted to provide a more responsive UX, but today’s major rollups all rely on centralized sequencers, requiring complete trust in a single entity.
Last week, we released Dusk-3, our 3rd devnet, featuring improvements.

Based on initial debugging efforts, it's infeasible to fix Dusknet this week as the majority of core devs are out for the holidays.
We'll be turning down all rollups deployed with the Astria RaaS.
We'll be back in office on January 2nd and will create a detailed postmortem.
We're excited to announce that Eclipse Labs, the development team contributing to Eclipse Mainnet, has raised a $50M Series A co-led by

We're aware that new rollup deployments aren't working, and some deployed rollups may not be working.
We're scaling our infrastructure and will post an update once we confirm if this fixes the current issues.
Happy Monday!
We're still buzzing from all the excitement about the Astria EVM.
Get ready for a few more announcements this week before the holidays! 🫡
As we move towards mainnet, we’ll be working with node providers to offer a range of hosted rollup node solutions.

1/5 In recent weeks, Stride announced a
@Hyperlane_xyz
partnership, and that
@EclipseFND
would be the first rollup to connect to Stride.
Today we're announcing that the
@AstriaOrg
rollup network will also be connecting to Stride 🎉
Why this matters 🧵
For each rollup, we fully provision:
🗞️ A rollup full node (not a centralized sequencer node like other RaaS) preventing lock-in.
💧A token faucet + Blockscout.
🌌 A Celestia light node.
milkTIA is powering Modularity!! 🥛
Centralisation contradicts crypto's ethos, yet rollups often rely on a single sequencer for quick, cost-effective transactions. This convenience sacrifices independence and censorship resistance to one trusted entity.

We're also announcing the Astria EVM, the first rollup to be powered by the shared sequencer network.
Our goal is for the Astria EVM to help bootstrap Celestia’s rollup ecosystem as a hub for liquidity and bridging, in both Celestia’s DA cluster and other ecosystems.
2/ The EVM has emerged as today’s flagship VM + there's a need for it in the Celestia ecosystem
Using Celestia for DA + the shared sequencer network for fast, censorship resistant block production, the Astria EVM overcomes limitations faced by other EVMs
We built a RaaS because deploying a rollup should be as easy, and as permissionless, as deploying a smart contract.
Existing RaaS products only offer developers centralized training wheels.
With Astria, developers don't have to make that trade-off.

Orbit 🪐 and the full Nitro ⚡ stack.
Developers can soon deploy a high-throughput Orbit chain as easily as a smart contract using Celestia as modular DA ✨
3/ All rollups on Astria's shared sequencer now include a Celestia light node.
Celestia is a modular DA network that securely scales with the number of users. Including a Celestia light node with every rollup deployed on Astria gives our devs the best option for scalability.
This shared sequencer network provides out-of-the-box censorship resistance, fast block confirmations, and cross-rollup composability – all while retaining each rollup’s sovereignty.
Centralization is unacceptable.
Today’s rollups almost all depend on a single sequencer. Despite fast transaction confirmations and reduced costs, these benefits come at the cost of relying on a single trusted actor for liveness and censorship resistance.
Deploy decentralized rollups easily.

Astria is decentralized by default.
Astria allows many rollups to share a single decentralized network of sequencers that’s simple and permissionless to join, removing any excuse for relying on a centralized sequencer.
the clearpill on the modular thesis is that it isn't a thesis.
it is a question of: would you rather use a clunky monolithic stack that you *have* to raise VC funding for, high overhead, and allows little to no experimentation
or ✨ just deploy ✨
So why haven't rollups decentralized yet?
Because it's hard.
But decentralization isn’t a problem that each rollup team should need to solve themselves.
We envision a future with thousands of decentralized sovereign rollups.
Astria's shared sequencer network takes us a step closer by streamlining the rollup development process, without compromising crypto’s core principle of decentralization.

5/ Finishing Dusknet-2 brings us one step closer to a testnet for the shared sequencer network planned for Q1 2024.
We are excited to make deploying decentralized rollups simple. Stay tuned!
2/ Today's rollups use independent centralized sequencers which order transactions for a single rollup.
Astria Dusknet is a shared sequencer which orders blocks for many rollups, reducing the overhead for each individual rollup and enabling atomic transaction inclusion.
4/ Dusknet-2 runs as a network with multiple block producing sequencer nodes.
This is a significant technical step towards our upcoming decentralized testnet which will be run by multiple external validators.
5/ To use Astria Dusknet to sequence your rollup, follow the instructions in our documentation page, which contains step-by-step instructions for deploying rollup(s) locally or on the cloud provider of your choice:
