Steam Frame [...] is your PC. Keep that in mind when compairing with other devices. This one is a Standalone PC, VR headset with a Desktop OS made for VR. It's not an adapted iPad OS, or Android, it's a fucking PC.

exactly. what GameOS and SteamOS have done. Except one is open.
So true. The OG @Xbox OS team - which took a fork of Windows and completely redid it - was an incredible set of engineers. They made an OS that was thin, performant, secure, capable, and designed for gaming. https://t.co/iJGuYsC6Ae

Overlooked aspect of Steam Frame: SteamOS on ARM and its FEX emulation layer means you’ll be playing PC games on ANY Android/snapdragon device Technically this is already possible with projects like Winlator and GameHub but this would be an “official” and optimized way of doing

@ZhugeEX How do they break into the mainstream console space if it can't play games like Fortnite, COD, Battlefield, GTA Online, EA FC, etc? They need to work on anti-cheat for Linux otherwise you're launching into a console space without support for the most popular games.

The coming “agentic” era of Windows will be its undoing... marking the inflection point that propels Linux to capture 25% of the global OS market. That shift alone represents over $500 billion in new ecosystem value, redistributed from Microsoft’s legacy monopoly into open,
