No one has ‘paid into’ the state pension. NI payments are spent by the government of the day, not put into a pot with your name on. Using these terms just perpetuates the myth that the state pension is a contributory scheme. It isn’t. It’s a non-means tested universal benefit

The people who manage your pension and savings should always be aiming to maximise your returns. But ESG has distorted this. Your returns are lower because managers are aiming to bankroll political causes. The brilliant @jamesd_graham’s report expertly lays out why you are

@Keir_Starmer Keir, this very morning you are putting up vehicle excise duty, air passenger duty, landfill tax, aggregates tax, plastic packaging tax, the climate change levy and business rates. All of these tax hikes are increasing the cost of living. So stop claiming that you are cutting it.

Unbelievable. A warship of this size and cost should mount multiple defensive systems - electronic, guns, and missiles. If you skimp on that guess what? The prospect of losing them means you will keep them out of harms way

Latest UK GDP figures confirm sluggish economic growth in second half of 2025 - just 0.1pc per quarter. Further evidence that UK economic growth in the 2020s is turning out to be the worst decade for the UK economy in 100 years!

This is an astonishing fact from today’s Sunday Times. At least 224 out of 257 new Labour MPs elected in July 2024 came from either charities or communications/lobbying agencies, or were formerly “political employees”. It explains so much about Labour backbenchers’ priorities.

Because regulators are diversity zealots, major companies in Britain need 40% of their board members to be women. Businesses should be judged on their products and services. Instead, regulators are obsessed with DEI. It’s none of their business and it’s crushing the economy.
