For Christians, it might seem like a confusing time to approach the political world. Polarization and partisanship threaten to divide communities, including the church. At the same time, American...

“Carrying U.S. currency isn’t a crime, but it’s possible we’ll steal it from you, and then we’ll flip the burden so that you have to prove it wasn’t connected to criminality.” This is simply legalized theft. Uphold the Fourth and Fifth Amendments. End civil asset forfeiture.
It's not a crime to carry over $10K, we just want to know about it. CBP officers in Texas seized over $70K of unreported U.S. currency. A driver was referred for secondary inspection, during which officers and a K9 unit found the money concealed in the vehicle. Read more:

[youth pastor voice] you know who else left his big important job to become a carpenter?
I once knew a guy whose dad used to be a six figure salary big bux finance guy and then at 45 just quit everything and became a literal carpenter because he needed meaning in his life and that meant doing real work not just moving numbers on a screen. Anyway his business became

Two things wrong with this critique of Trump: A) What happens around the world affects Americans. America ignores this at our peril. B) We don’t want this President nor any President to be our “daddy.” That’s statism not conservatism.
Benny Johnson: "Donald Trump is often called 'the President of the World.'…That's not why we elected you, damn it. We elected you to be daddy here to care for your children, which are Americans."

If Catholics and Jews had to wait for generations before our laws accommodated their religious practices, what's wrong with telling American Muslims they must expect the same?

If we had a nickel for every left-handed hitting Hall of Famer born on November 21 in Donora, Pa., we’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice!

This is utterly backwards. Contemporary edgy righties benefited from an ascendant conservatism, whereas Robbie, one of the smartest and savviest people I've ever met, spoke out over decades of progressive hegemony and took constant risks for many young dissident scholars as well.
Robbie George functions as an aspirational figure for these guys. His conservatism comes with no real cost. It’s the kind you mention as an interesting anecdote at a dinner party. They need to believe they can be welcomed in elite circles as conservatives, and RG gives them hope.

I knew and admired Jamal Khashoggi, a true Saudi patriot who hoped for a freer nation. It's painful to see President Trump suggest that because Jamal was "controversial," he somehow merited being murdered and dismembered, with Saudi Arabia still refusing to return his remains.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to

This is right wing deconstruction. The contempt that some CNs openly display toward Christianity and Christians is the exvangelical movement 2.0, just swapping out left-coded issues for right-coded ones.
This clip from the CN docu is wild. If SNL was parodying they couldn’t have done a better job. Are we sure this wasn’t put out by @JoelWBerry?

Asked Rep Troy Nehls, who called the Epstein files a hoax and said he’d never vote to release the files, why he’s voting to release them now: “Because everybody is voting for them,” he tells me. “My vote won’t matter.” (He adds: “Young lady… you’re sick, you need counseling”)

Whatever you think about @McCormickProf's resignation from Heritage -- personally, I can see arguments from both sides -- consider that his departure will likely have a big effect on Heritage's relationship with academia, including Heritage-affiliated professors.

A major decision. George’s resignation sends a powerful signal that Heritage’s response to this crisis is insufficient.

The Westminster Larger Catechism Q and A (145) on the 9th Commandment says that one way to sin against the commandment is "speaking the truth unseasonably or maliciously to a wrong end." That's worth remembering.

One of my strongest opinions is that anybody wants to be President of the United States is a sociopath, so Minnesota was right to be nervous.
LaMelo Ball reportedly scared the Timberwolves away during the draft process when he said he wanted to be the President of the United States, per @JonKrawczynski “So, we know they picked Edwards. But that’s not my little nugget for you all. It’s why they picked Edwards. There
