My heart goes out to everyone laid off and to those left at Epic who have to pick up pieces. Mass layoffs are difficult on everyone, and I hope everyone takes care of their mental health and finds their new way forward quickly. I loved working on Festival.

Some gameplay logic. But tough focus and input issues often would go to me, and it was my job to understand and implement paradigmsand frameworks for the team to follow so we could all build UI the right way.

Just to be clear, yes I was the only UI Engineer on the team, but making UI is a team effort! Technical designers and other engineers build UI as well on Festival, I just was the only engineer solely dedicated to that function where say, a gameplay engineer might do some UI and-

I was laid off today. I spent the last 2 years as the only UI Engineer on Festival, implementing new features like Local Multi-player, Festival Menu, Calibration, and new game modes. I dove into focus and input issues, often helping other teams with their issues as well.

Realizing they spent $450 billion on AI and all it did was fire millions of people, make everything worse, and add zero growth to the economy.

This is so fucked up and disgusting.

Forcing teachers to out LGBTQ students to their parents puts kids’ lives at risk. Some will die. Some will get kicked out & become homeless. Some will be sent to conversion therapy. The choice to come out to one’s parents belongs only to the kid & is no one else’s damn business.

You might think what’s happening in Kansas doesn’t affect you because you’re not trans, but the same government telling us you need ID to vote, is showing us how easy it is for them to take our ID. Wake up.

It's important to stay informed about what the government is doing to trans people because what they are allowed to do to one group they will figure out how to do to all. Trans Kansas residents are losing their licenses with no grace period to get new ones.

This is an attack on human rights. Kansas is stripping trans people of their drivers licence unless they change it to the wrong gender. This will make it so they can’t drive and can’t vote. Get loud. If they can take rights away from trans people, they can take them from you.
