To be clear: the American president doesn’t declare war, Congress does, and the fact that the administration left Congress completely out of the decision to invade Venezuela is a real problem.

I sat through Jack Smith’s testimony, and I’d urge everyone to watch these clips. Republicans tried to rewrite history and shield Trump from the consequences of his crimes, but Special Counsel Smith had the law on his side. No wonder they tried burying this on New Year’s Eve.

Without authorization from Congress, and with the vast majority of Americans opposed to military action, Trump just launched an unjustified, illegal strike on Venezuela. He says we don’t have enough money for healthcare for Americans—but somehow we have unlimited funds for war??

This is David Gentile. He put together a $1.6B Ponzi type investment scheme that would have made Bernie Madoff blush. Cops, teachers, farmers and other hard working folks lost their retirement. Trump commuted his sentence and wiped all his restitution to victims. Not Somali.

This is a particularly stupid and ridiculous lie. The total amount of federal subsidies, allocated for all child daycare, for the entire country, is about $14B. Our VP is demanding they give this nitwit a Pulitzer Prize.

So we’re just announcing foreign strikes and kidnappings of foreign leaders on social media now? No Congress. No explanation. This is madness.
