Breaking production shouldnât be a fireable offense, unless you covered it up, or did it intentionally. Itâs a system failure and the system needs to be fixed. At @platformsh we championed the idea of âDeploy Fridayâ because you should have systems that give you confidence.
The question is not if youâll break production, BUT when. If you fire developers that break production, youâll eventually fire everyone. The fact that the junior developer broke production should make you ask some questions:.- why wasnât the bug caught by the tests?.- why donât
