@catielila Your thread reminded me of a FB post I made after months of dealing with paperwork for my new baby. The various bureaucratic tasks and forms took almost as long as gestating her did. Actually, probably longer.

Using Slack as a remote worker across the world is like having Tamagotchi. They all have different personalities, you interact by tapping a few buttons and, in the morning, there are interesting and fun new developments!

A humble plea to other journalists to be mindful of best practices when writing about suicide. This site, a collaboration between mental health and policy groups, is well-organized and quick to reference when on deadline.

As a handshake alternative, has anyone tried miming being trapped in a glass case of emotion? Mime that you’re behind a glass wall for a couple seconds, then slump to the floor and cry for a bit before continuing with your meeting.

This gif is a cultural treasure. After the past several weeks of expecially hellish news, it feels good to see this.

@WoollyWormhead This is seriously a great book. I discovered it when I was 11 and bought my own copy a few years later. I’ve had it for almost 20 years and always re-read it before bed in college. It’s been with me in California, New York and now Taipei (I also have it on Kindle and Audible).

I think the last week or so really underscores the value of a chronological newsfeed.

Feels like the right time to reveal my working from home tip is setting up mirrors on my desk. Boom! Coworkers!

I deeply admire @ekp for her courage. She took on more than anyone should have to and as a result paved the way for many people to speak up.

By privileged, I meant I had things-a support system, the financial means, access to good insurance and a host of other unearned advantages-that meant I was able to move on from those experiences, at least on the outside.
