Personal news: I was laid off at TechCrunch today along with a handful of Ops, Biz and editorial folks. All the best.
TechCrunch has been my home since 2008. I grew up at TC. I traveled the world with TC. I became the fucking best at TechCrunch and it's their loss.
DMs open.

I was laid off from TechCrunch yesterday, and it's hitting hard. I spent my adult life building TechCrunch. I joined the gadget side run by
@johnbiggs
in 2008.
By the time Aol purchased TC in 2010, CrunchGear made up 1/3 of the site's traffic. John Biggs changed my life. He…
It's been nearly two months since I was laid off from TechCrunch. A lot has happened! I connected with a lot of old friends, made new friends, had a lengthy hospital stay, and found some new projects.
I'm thrilled to announce one of the new projects: The Resilience Conference.…

What's next for me? I'm a Michiganian (not a Michigander), and I'm turning my attention to startups here. This state has the best people on the planet. We have capital and talent and must keep pushing towards an ecosystem that reinvests in itself.
Believe in people. Hugs.
Along with these amazing coworkers, I was also laid off after 12 years at
@TechCrunch
. I am looking for jobs I can do in Taipei, or remotely. I’m available for journalism and PR/comms work.
Want to pitch your startup on TechCrunch Live right now? We're still looking for a couple companies to pitch in 10 minutes. Jump in Hopin and talk to Michael.
Hilarious that Artifact and Yahoo gave The Verge an embargo instead of TechCrunch, who is owned by Yahoo and featured Kevin and Artifact at TechCrunch Disrupt 2023.
@techcrunch
laid me off last week, and since then, I've had the best week of my adult life. Here's why.

The first Disrupt in 2010 was madness. Watching Carol Bartz saying fuck off to Michael Arrington was amazing. He deserved it in the moment. But that first Disrupt was wild. It was held in a vacated Chase Bank office building and was so hot we had to buy every box fan available.…
This is fantastic hardware startup. They seemingly do a lot of the right things: Constant customer feedback, a robust security suite, and serious enterprise offering. Loved talking to them. They're worth a look.
I have a lot of stories and memories. I have to get these out of my head. My former TC colleagues know this well: I love sharing old photos. And I have so many old TechCrunch photos. So here we go; let's look back at TC from my perspective.
in case Trump shuts down the southern border I want everyone to know I have three avocados I bought to eat in the mornings but everyone knows I’m not going to do that. anyway. $500 each.
What are you doing around 3:00 EDT today because I’m hosting a really neat TechCrunch Live about how startups should handle uncertainty. It’s free and, I hope, fun. Register here.
