π¨ In our latest EthResearch post, Christoph Schlegel and I suggest a modification to ePBS to mitigate the free-option problem. We propose introducing penalties and adjusting them dynamically in an online learning fashion.

There's lots of debate over what market structure will look like with ePBS. I'm bullish trustless payments because a decentralized network shouldn't need to push 90% of blocks through three geographic chokepoints that just facilitate an offchain auction.

Geography is destiny. Public blockchains like Ethereum were built to transcend borders. Yet if you plot where their validators actually run, the map tells a different story β dense clusters around...

Phil's 2023 post, "Decentralized crypto needs you: to be a geographical decentralization maxi," urged us to put more emphasis on studying this phenomenon, which is a cornerstone for building global permissionless systems β this research continues in that direction. π«‘

π¨Our paper on the EIP-7732 ePBS free option problem! TL;DR: The problem worsens with: - higher liquidity - higher volatility - longer option window - non-atomic MEV in the block π In historical data: it causes 0.82% blocks missed on avg/day β and up to 5.5%! (1/n)
Does ePBS spark joy? In our new paper, we explore this with @boez95, Christoph Schlegel, and @William33203632.

xMEV is on the riseπ₯ We see that cross-chain arbs gained even more traction by the end of last year, reaching 1.5B total volume. We also observed an all time highest 50 ETH arb between base and arbitrum π€

Decentralised prediction markets, particularly @Polymarket , have drawn increasing attention lately. In late 2022, Polymarket transitioned from an AMM-based design to a Central Limit Order Book (CLOB) model. We examine market-making mechanisms and liquidity dynamics in
