We attempt to demystify NFTs and explain why they’re valuable -- and what they mean for the future of business.
I mean from the perspective of a Bayesian, can we really give any ex ante credence to the possibility that someone named Bayes had important mathematical observations?

As far as I can tell from this site, while it does provide access to free tests (assuming you haven't already ordered the maximum of 8), it doesn't actually provide any of those other things; rather, it gives hard-to-navigate information on where you might potentially find them.
- Free vaccines

If NFTs are all about enabling ownership, then why would creators choose to give away intellectual property rights through creative commons licensing (cc0)? 🤔❓❔❓

Don't get me wrong -- I'm VERY glad we've improved access to Paxlovid!
But posting increased treatment counts isn't the win that
@WhiteHouse
apparently thinks it is.
What we want to do is reduce transmission, so the number of people needing to get treatment would go *down*.
Thanks to the Biden-Harris Administration’s COVID-19 response, more tools are available than ever to protect against and treat COVID. In July, over one million Americans benefited from Paxlovid – a pill that reduces the likelihood of hospitalization or death by about 90%.

In retrospect, we probably should have *always* had masks in many/most healthcare settings. They would be a good idea even if there weren't still a raging pandemic going on.
So the push to remove them baffles me -- especially when it comes from the medical establishment.
Who among us has not discarded all of Galois theory on the basis that it seems rather unlikely that someone who died in a duel might also have revolutionized the field of abstract algebra?
@littmath
@ben_golub
@wirelyss
This is totally absurd. We could have built a website with this level of (non-)functionality two years ago 🤦♂️! And *why* can't we just mail people masks!?

Seems like a regressive policy thb since anyone who proves the Riemann hypothesis gets a million dollars in prize money.

Using percentage-of-deaths-in-region as a metric for thinking about a preventable illness is absurd even leaving aside all of the risks from "mild" Covid cases.
Suppose drunk driving deaths doubled. According to
@CDCgov

The

My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril.
Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now.

An NFT mint largely determines who your community is, and how they and the broader market view the project.
The question is, then: How can a new NFT project recruit holders who share the project’s values and goals?

I called them, spent several minutes navigating a phone tree, and then was just told that they were given some free masks to give out while supplies last 🤷♂️
Plus as
@wsbgnl
points out, currently Paxlovid is earmarked for high-risk individuals; we shouldn't be celebrating the fact that the number of high-risk individuals getting infected is going up, even if we are successfully getting them treatment.
