Growth is good, actually, and there's no real reason we'll soon hit a limit on growth, globally. This doesn't mean we don't have to prepare for major, difficult societal changes / transitions, but the solutions lie in growth, not degrowth. Degrowth is an unserious proposition.

One of the last things Stuart Hall wrote before he died was about the composite, constantly shifting nature of "common sense" - something that appears timeless because it denies and leaves no traces of the relatively recent history of its elements. https://t.co/zSGGZMqJuq
Tory MP Esther McVey has been appointed to cabinet as what's being reported as the new minister for 'common sense'. @BBCNickRobinson asks Richard Holden, new Conservative party chairman, what this role means. #R4Today

This @acmtochi paper by Hertzum and @khornbaek just keeps giving. It reports why people are frustrated when using their computers. A gold mine of tables and quotations. Handy when writing up the motivation of a CHI paper https://t.co/L43lmfctNG

What's science saying on the UI of the @Apple's new HMD? In 2021-22 we studied the techniques of Gaze+Pinch (#VisionPro) vs Handray (#HoloLens #MetaQuest). Result: Gaze+Pinch is faster & less physical effort if targets fit the eyetracker accuracy. More details & papers below.
