MAJOR NEWS: @GavinNewsom signed SB 79, my bill allowing more housing near public transit — rail, subway, rapid bus. It’s a huge step for housing in California. It’ll create more homes, strengthen our transit systems & reduce traffic & carbon emissions. Thank you, Governor!

BFD. There's not a person in @RepScottPeters' office who has not worked on this. Many people said it was a pipe dream, or that it would take a decade to secure the money. This unbeatable team got over $360 million in one year.
🚨 Gov spending deal includes $250 MILLION to tackle cross-border sewage! This is enough to fix & upgrade our broken wastewater treatment plant. I led the request for this $ with the backing of SD's congressional delegation and will keep fighting for clean water, air, & beaches.

It’s permitting week in the House of Representatives!
Awesome progress on bipartisan permitting reform efforts this week: 1. NEPA reform for forest management to fight wildfires passed the House 2. NEPA exemption for semiconductor fabs passed the House (and already passed the Senate)
