And we rebuilt our alliances around the world to support Ukraine’s resistance against Russia’s illegal war, responsibly manage our economic relationship with China, strengthen the multilateral development banks, and end the race to the bottom in corporate taxes.

We strengthened the resilience of the U.S. financial system while navigating a regional banking crisis, as well as two debt limit impasses, and we modernized the @IRSNews to make our tax system fairer and more responsive.

We led an historic economic recovery from the pandemic and ensured that record clean energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing investments reached people and places that had been long overlooked.

Under President Biden’s leadership over the past four years, @USTreasury tackled an array of hard issues head-on, driving historic economic progress that will continue to benefit people at home and around the world for years to come.

Every day, @USTreasury’s talented and dedicated civil servants make decisions that affect the lives of millions of Americans and billions globally. Each of them approaches this work with the respect and reverence it requires. They are a national treasure.

The U.S.’s economic recovery thus far has set us on a strong foundation to tackle challenges and seize future opportunities for growth. Our economy is resilient, and it is critical that sound economic policymaking sustain this momentum to benefit all Americans.

Historic laws like the Inflation Reduction Act, CHIPS and Science Act, and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is spurring investments in infrastructure, clean energy, semiconductors and more, driving productivity and revitalizing communities that had been left behind.

Real wages for most workers have risen, especially for lower-income Americans. Median household wealth is at its highest, and unemployment gaps between racial and rural-urban divides have narrowed significantly.

As a result, our economic recovery has been strong and inclusive with inflation coming down faster than our peers. Today, the U.S. leads the G7 in GDP growth and has record labor participation rates.

.@POTUS came into office at a time when thousands of Americans were dying each day and unemployment was over 6 percent. We responded quickly and boldly, vaccinating millions, supporting families and businesses, unsnarling supply chains, and navigating major additional crises.

The U.S. economy has done exceptionally well in the aftermath of the pandemic, outperforming other advanced economies and past recoveries and defying expectations. I believe our Administration has made sound decisions that set the economy on a strong course.

I was humbled to accept the New York Association for Business Economics’ William F. Butler Award. @POTUS’ economic agenda has driven tremendous economic progress over the past four years and it’s been a privilege to have served on his economic team.
