We need more senior researchers camping out at their posters like this. Managed to catch 10 minutes of Alyosha turning @anand_bhattad’s poster into a pop-up mini lecture. Extra spark after he spotted @jathushan. Other folks in the audience: @HaoLi81 @konpatp @GurushaJuneja.

we shouldnt set a separate goal post for academics vs industry. science is science - no matter where it is done or who does it! It is a slippery slope- would we have lower bar for papers by UG or High school students, or papers from academic institutions or countries where
We may need to consider splitting the review process into academic and industry tracks in future AI/ML conferences. I’ve seen many genuinely good ideas get rejected simply because the experiments aren’t “large-scale” enough—which in practice often means industry-lab-scale

Crossed paths with Prof. @pratyusha_PS near her poster “Lora vs Full Fine-tuning” at #NeurIPS2025. Her work offers fundamental insights for the field and has strong scientific rigour. Had a discussions on research directions and long-term vision. Was nice to briefly connect.

Well worth watching. Very cool take from my beloved advisor on correlation vs causality. Though have to show this holds for more than just support structures :-) More people should walk around conferences and post good video snippets! Way to go, @arif_ahmad_py!

I remember seeing him at a CV conference before, personally presenting his own poster. I was genuinely surprised that such a senior professor would so passionately explain a poster himself, it is deeply admirable. We need more people like him!

Amazing work by Koe! Also SimWorld is a spotlight paper at Neurips! Do visit his poster and say hi to him.
🤔LLM/VLM agents are great at text, math, and code — but can they live and reason in the real world? Can we let LLM/VLM agents learn and evaluate in a complex, noisy, dynamic, and unpredictable environment, just as the real world? 🚀Really excited to introduce SimWorld, a

the 60 paper author's company (Algoverse) has a website claiming ~70% acceptance rates at workshops (which have very low bars for acceptance). I don't think any of their papers are even at the main conference. Some papers look great, many seem kind of just random/slop (although
A colleague brought this miraculous situation to my attention. @NeurIPSConf is there an upper limit on the number of workshop papers that a single person can author? Having 60 (sixty) papers in one conference? How is this humanly possible? https://t.co/XJBvC9Exfd

Apparently the controversy was due to this new business in town: 1. Charge $3-4K from high school/undergrad students for writing papers for grad school applications. 2. Put yourself as a co-author to ALL of the papers. 3. Enjoy $600K (low estimate) + 60 @NeurIPSConf WS papers!
@ilkedemir @NeurIPSConf lmao this is actually peak academic malpractice
