🇮🇪 When asked on @NTBreakfast if gender identity is on the new Primary Curriculum Minister Helen McEntee says "it's not there". This 20 minute video shows where it is and how it is already in Irish primary school classrooms under the guise of "anti bullying". @griptmedia

Never been so angry at Government. Appalling budget.Going ahead with new Leaving Cert without adequately training teachers, equipping schools, AI Guides or training.5th year students expected to muddle thru most stressful year. McEntee does not care, ignores ALL issues.

We don’t let 10-year-olds vote, drink, or smoke because we know they’re too young for life altering decisions. Yet schools are going to teach them to question their gender. This isn’t education, it’s indoctrination.

As Minister for Education Helen McEntee stood at a podium in a Dublin primary school to launch the State's new primary school curriculum it was difficult to ignore the smell of damp that pervaded the hall, and the state of the ceiling above her head https://t.co/bPr7CWqEVN

I don't know how to explain to people that it's important to read books, important to keep the mind active through constant learning, important to spend time with real humans. Avoid AI companions, make your own art, don't let them turn you into an unthinking shell of a person.

Paul Givan calls for withdrawal of Transgender Guidance for schools. Imagine somebody in power who knows the difference between a male and female but in the odd world we live in he has to call for clarity in woke school policy.

Yet the new Leaving Cert reform goes steaming towards AI at top pace, while so many educational bodies reverse away from it. Add to that NO AI Guidelines in Ireland, NO AI training for teachers. An AI question was asked in AG Science Leaving C this year, unfair to all @HMcEntee
My new @SMFthinktank report shows that using AI in schools and colleges without sufficient care and attention could result in a drop in standards, undermining all the progress made in recent years. Read / download the report here: https://t.co/Ux4cA8E1gv

On LC reform the Minister for Education says it's "student led". I have 46 taking LC Chemistry in fifth year. The vast majority don't want a 40% project and would prefer a final exam only. Students, parents and teachers do not support LC reform. That's the reality.

Well said, Conor. This is the reality on the ground for teachers who this year are expected to teach the new Leaving Cert subject, Drama, Film and Theatre Studies, announced to great fanfare by Norma back in 2022. 3 years later still no sign of the necessary equipment & software.
@bcroninbantry25 @humphreyjones When they went into the art room there were special desks and art supplies. When they went into the Home Ec room there were ovens and equipment. Same with Woodwork, DCG, metal work,PE, music... When they went into Drama, Film and Theatre? Nothing Not good enough and they know it

@bcroninbantry25 @conorsmurf @humphreyjones This new subject was announced by Norma Foley back in 2022. Surely, the procurement process should have been started way before now!!

We did a quick survey on our WhatsApp community today, asking teachers to share how confident they are in teaching the new Senior Cycle Science specifications. Disappointingly, it would seem the vast majority lack confidence in their ability. #edchatIE

This is deeply depressing but completely understandable at the same time. No disrespect to the @Oide_Science team, who do good work, but two days of training before a new syllabus is introduced is not sufficient. Throw in uncertainty around a new practical assessment model,
