I am Katie Greenin-Whitehead studying sensory information and memory storage in Drosophila. I use 2-photon and confocal imaging to investigate Kenyon cell responses to odours and the inclusion of sodium channels. In my spare time I enjoy yoga and illustrating. #ECROfTheWeek

Sex or survival—what’s more important? Excited to share our @Nature paper on how flies resolve this conflict. We found a dopamine-based filter that reduces threat perception, helping flies focus on courtship when close to mating. https://t.co/ZZ0UoKTqgn

What if we could universally recombine, insert, delete, or invert any two pieces of DNA? In back-to-back @Nature papers, we report the discovery of bridge RNAs and 3 atomic structures of the first natural RNA-guided recombinase - a new mechanism for programmable genome design

Introducing our ECRS: I'm Kat Bergmann. I joined the Lin lab https://t.co/pS8v6X2gxV in 2023 as a post-doc. I mainly use 2-photon imaging to study sensory coding in the Drosophila mushroom body. I am particularly interested in neuronal noise and its role in olfactory learning.
