This isnt going where you think it is. 🧵 One of the most annoying things about children is that they want you to stop what you're doing every 0.7 seconds to watch them attempt what I think is supposed to be a cartwheel, or show you how good they are at standing on one leg.

📢#WeAreAllSue in today's @timeshighered ‼️ Read here: https://t.co/8c8QdGjAvy Thank you @jgro_the for covering this horrific case. @UnisNotBorders advocates for migrant students & staff so that no one should experience what Sue Agazie has been met with @UniofNewcastle. 🧵

This is shameful. @ucu should behave towards its staff in the same way as we demand our employers treat us. Solidarity with all in @UniteUCU. Do better, @ucu!
Our members have today overwhelmingly voted to take industrial action over #WorkplaceRacism and the wider organisational dysfunction affecting staff. 72% of members voted to strike on a 79% turnout. We trust our employer will now start listening. #JobsEqualityConditions @UCU

A university’s attempts to regulate staff and students’ use of social media may put it on a collision course with the English sector regulator’s new free speech rules, it has been warned. @TWilliamsTHE reports https://t.co/jI6JBV56Jt

For the good people who fight it on the beaches, in the law courts, in their homes, in their communities, in our national institutions, and in their hearts. Keep fighting. #RwandaNotInMyName

Lack of constructive engagement is symptomatic of a wider trend of unrepresentative centralised decision making which has detrimented campus relationships. It’s time to change course, beginning with ensuring the safety of the students & constructively engaging with their demands.

We call on @UniversityLeeds to respect the right to peaceful protest and assembly, and to constructively engage with the students’ grievances and demands, many of which are in agreement with Leeds University UCU resolutions and positions.
