I’ve been slow to roll out predictions regarding the current administration. I respect the people who have made a few, but I think that these haven’t exactly been bold. Here’s a few that I’m gonna throw out there, and I’ll likely add to it over time. 1) Deficit will increase

🫡 I love to see subscribers losing weight! Losing 6% of body weight in two months is easy. Many of you could do it, and the monthly cost behind these drugs is only about $25. It's so cheap that most people save money on food! If you want to join him, click the link below.
I’m now down 13 on Tirzepatide since Oct. 1. About 6%. Followed @cremieuxrecueil protocol almost to the letter. Wasted time prior to starting trying to get a prescription. Found out the hard way that if you are healthy, you won’t get one. Had to turn to the grey market.

I used to think that society would, over time, have fewer and fewer false beliefs because of how easily correct information could be could be obtained. But there are just *so many* things passing as conventional wisdom that are simply untrue, and the romanticizing of air travel
This NYT article on the "golden age" of air travel is an amazing example of an unthinking journalist failing to make contact with reality. The narrative: air travel used to be much better, but less affordable. 1/

@mattyglesias It's an AI hallucinated article but it feels true to people and they're pretty sure that's what really matters

Every single Republican senator who voted to confirm RFK Jr. knew exactly what they were getting. They just couldn't afford to cross Trump. So they had to act like they had extracted real concessions - and now act "betrayed" as RFK behaves exactly like everyone knew he would.
Scty RFKjr hired Calley Means to advise him. Calley is crusading to stop pesticide use in ag RFK PROMISED NOT TO ADVISE ON FARMING He better not follow CALLEY ON PESTICIDES

The evidence that GLP-1 drugs can protect from cognitive decline keeps rolling out. Now, we have a meta-analysis of trials showing that these drugs provide clinically meaningful improvements in the rate of cognitive decline compared to placebo or other, conventional treatment.

Retatrutide is such an incredible drug. Every other company is competing for second place against tirzepatide while Lilly is jumping ahead to maintain first.

I don't know what's worse -- dismissing the murder of a journalist with "things happen," or saying that MBS "knew nothing about it." Trump's own administration reported to Congress that MBS was responsible for killing Khashoggi.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to

1. Raise tariff 2. Collect bribes 3. Reduce tariff It's really that simple. The challenge with describing the economic strategy of the Trump admin is that it's not an "economic" "strategy," it's a "create pain -> collect payoff" mafia formula run over and over again, and admin

MAGA in 2020: "Save the children!" MAGA in 2025: "What even is a child, anyway?"
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

The irony gods, the writers of 2025, divine purpose, call it what you want, but someone up there clearly thought it would be hilarious to create a movement based on decoding pizza boxes for hidden clues and then present them this evidence board

If you're a 300-pound, 45% body fat man and you get on tirzepatide and have a totally average -20pp response for two years straight, you'll cut down to 22% body fat. You will actually be CONSIDERABLY fitter than the typical American male aged 18-59. It's that easy.

I've long opposed the filibuster and lots of people would say "well how would you feel if the R's had united government and no filibuster" and my answer is: fine! it would be better to have congress doing stuff and actually passing laws than a wannabe dictator issuing decrees

High-stakes trust fall!
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now
