Sometimes all that glitters is gold 💫 In thinking of PAF as a prodromal state, we miss that the majority of patients remain PAF during their lifetime. This is an important group and we studied their clinical and autonomic profiles 🚨 Hot off the press @ClinAutonRes

When I have a new fellow or resident in our peripheral nerve clinic, I always teach them the importance of defining the neuropathy clinical syndrome. NCS/EMG are valuable, but the neurological exam is the most important (as it should be in neurology but many have forgotten).

Grateful to be part of this collaborative effort with Dr. John Mills and the amazing team at @MayoClinicLabs. A testament to teamwork and the lab’s continued commitment to advancing diagnostics for demyelinating neuropathies. #Neurology #Neuropathy
"Specificity is a critical part of our lab. We utilize the best possible assays and set our cutoffs to minimize false positives," says Divyanshu Dubey, M.B.B.S. Learn how our demyelinating neuropathy panel can identify a specific cause and guide treatment. https://t.co/sUPEY1L0Er

MRI, EEG, EMG, LP. The beauty and pain of neurology is that with these - unless you do a great history (when)/exam (where) - 50% of the time you will still have no idea what is going on. There is no test (yet) that can replace your friendly (mostly) neighborhood neurologist.
