Our study reveals the frequency, causes, and consequences of seizure-related falls in LGI1-IgG autoimmune encephalitis. Drop attacks & crural dystonic seizures among top causes. Early diagnosis and prompt immunotherapy crucial for better outcomes
This study demonstrates that seizure-related falls & near falls are common in LGI1-IgG autoimmune encephalitis. Early diagnosis, prompt immunotherapy initiation, & proper counseling are key to improving functional outcomes & preventing secondary injuries. https://t.co/KhMCBNa3GJ

Risk of sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) with lamotrigine and other sodium channel modulating antiseizur… https://t.co/iY79IoxIiB A new paper from our Melbourne-NYU collaboration providing more reassuring data about the safety of lamotrigine re: SUDEP risk.
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
This study provides additional evidence that lamotrigine and other NaM-ASMs are unlikely to be associated with an increased long-term risk of SUDEP, up to 16 years post-EMU admission.
