@OfficialFBMA My husband volunteered to take my car into the shop after our *first* date. I gave him my keys (judge yo mama) and went out of town for work for FOUR DAYS! When I came back, I noticed he’d cleaned my apartment while I was gone. I was freaked OUT! I thought I was being love bombed.

@studmeetsworld I remember when I was about 11, I thought “I wanna go live with my Daddy” was a trump card and one day my mama said cool, you can go visit for the summer. Babyyyyyyy, by the end of that summer I never wanted to see that man again. 😅.

@tallyohhh @babyibeenajoint I hear you, truly! I think there’s another side of this coin as well which is be discreet and quiet in public places if you’re going to do stuff like this. It’s the world we live in now (whether right or wrong) and don’t put yourself in this position.

@__missxbri One time a dude told me I was like Barack because I was the first Black woman he was ever attracted to after I explained to him I’m Black American and not Dominican. BLOCKEDT.

@TopherPatt This is hilarious to me because I think I’m the only person on the planet who happens to listen to those two exact songs back to back on purpose on a regular basis. These two songs just do happen to be my three year old son’s very favorite songs to dance to. 😂 So random!.

@studmeetsworld Meanwhile, I have an uncle who fought for joint custody of his kids despite every opportunity to say “my baby mama be trippin” and be out. He risked a lot to be in his children’s lives. He’s one of the best fathers I know. Men who abandon their families aren’t good dads. 🤷🏾♀️.

@GracionBaxter @studmeetsworld Long story short, my father (who used to beat my mom’s ass) was barely there to spend any time with me and talked down to me when he was there. He was exactly who she knew him to be and I had to learn that for myself.

@shOoObz I think a productive conversation around this could be how do we adjust the way we raise boys? I try to balance teaching my son safety without unreasonably stifling his play and I’m open to new approaches.

@GracionBaxter @studmeetsworld Oh and he also casually revealed to me that I had an OLDER sister. One he apparently never claimed when he and my mother were together. It was crystal clear to 11 year old me that he was a loser. It broke my heart.

@shOoObz As someone who has “lived a lot of lives”, I’m hyper aware that I be sounding like I’m lying sometimes because my life made so many 180s, u-turns, and loop-de-loops. 😂 The dots don’t always connect easily, but they connect!.

@GhostAGDOPE @DreaNicole_ @sour_dizel You thinking an unaroused vagina is appealing certainly has nothing to do with any understanding a real life vagina, so what is it then if not fake sex?.

@babyibeenajoint This is nasty work… people are drunk with power. Getting someone fired just because they disrespected someone??? Like what?! People can be wrong and employed at the same time. That’s wild.

@TsMadisonatl1 I say this with so so much love… this is the wrong hill to die on @TsMadisonatl1 . Sometimes you just gotta apologize, agree to disagree, and move on when you’re at the level you are with the affiliations you have. Being right is not worth it. I hope you’ll let this pass.

@keatingssixth 😂😂😂 As the mom of an only child, I need yall to tell me the problem stat so I can start counter messaging. lol I don’t want my son to grow up to be anyone’s problem. But also, that’s my babyyyyyy 🥹.

@maurachanz 😬 It doesn’t ruin it but I had the same thought. It reminded me of when I lived in DC and the guy I was dating proposed to me at his favorite monument The whole time we were there I was going on and on about how I couldn’t wait to go to my fave next… we never made it. 😅.

@DaJuiceman2305 @_iamjamila Things would’ve been much easier for me if someone paused and thought to themself “this baby needs life spoken into her, this baby needs to be loved on.” As and Bs are not the end all be all. Self-worth is.

@knwthevbz Couldn’t agree more. I respect and honor what Issa did for black folks through her art; HOWEVER, I believe every single word Amanda said. And that’s disappointing, but the reality is we are all flawed and dynamic humans. It’s just a part of life.

@DaJuiceman2305 @_iamjamila You’re not getting it. The majority of the time it IS a mental health issue. The adults around me thought I was getting the love + support I deserved. They were wrong. If a kid isn’t showing up for themself, 9 times out of 10, it’s ‘cause they need someone to show up for them.

@karmagunzz @Freaky_Goddess_ @SaycheeseDGTL The number of times I’ve stopped myself from doing even the most inconsequential things (like calling off from work) because I have a child makes me agree with you so hard. When being a parent is top of mind, you don’t move this reckless. Period.

@YoSheCuts @shOoObz Girl, it’s so hard to strike that balance. I hope you’re not too hard on yourself about it. But I see similar things with my kid, too. I want him to be cautious AND brave and sometimes it feels like an unachievable balance.

@iSpeakLyrically @almosthireddd @UCLandLawd I think you’re confused because you keep reframing the statement. No one is surprised that her black family is black. They are staying they weren’t aware that Zendaya was raised in black culture.

@DaJuiceman2305 @_iamjamila I was a “lazy student”. I made F’s in school. I didn’t even do homework so I had tons of zeros. I dropped out my first semester in high school. 10 years later, I got my GED, went to community college, earned a merit-based full scholarship to an ivy, and graduated cum laude.

@iSAIDiamRah The juxtaposition of the accusation and his socioeconomic status demonstrates that people have a tendency to associate blackness with destitution and criminality. The point is that even someone who is “elite” can be stereotyped merely because of his black skin.

@Alythium @TsMadisonatl1 I don’t think she’s xenophobic, but the optics are bad. Sharing anything posted by a twitter account called “Immigrants Killed Michael Jackson” calling immigrants terrorists is not a good look for her. I don’t know her, but I would point that out to anyone I wanted the best for.
