Well, what a lovely day at Chesterfield that was (minus the downpour at the end of the day). Have only been to Chesterfield to watch T20 before today, and I've got to say only Scarborough beats it for watching County Championship cricket.

All muslims need to compete Hajj once in their lifetime whilst they are physically and financially able to do it. Rashid didn't do it earlier in his career and instead played for both Yorkshire and England, always giving 110%. Now is the right time for him to go on Hajj.

Sad to hear this, but I don't blame him for all the hard work he has put in, the hours he has given up to do it, this on top of a barrage of criticism and abuse. The work Lord Patel and co. have done cannot be underestimated- it'll change cricket not just at Yorkshire forever.

Right, I think I have the county schedule will which suit everybody:
April- 50 overs
May to July- 8 rounds of CC (7 games each) + 10 or 14 T20 Blast games (flexible there)
August- The 100 + Bob Willis Trophy following the same format as 2020
September- 3 rounds of CC

A bit of an obscure one, but I would pick Dave Callaghan (Cally). Sadly died of a heart attack in 2018, but was the Yorkshire commentator for BBC Leeds. Was very knowledgeable about the game. Never got to meet him, but was apparently very humble and kind. A friend of

The Hundred is played in peak summer, pushing the County Championship to the peripheries of the season, when pitches are soft & green. Players can't develop to play test cricket, instead adopt a technique to face 'dibbly dobbly' bowling. The Hundred has killed red ball cricket.

Had a lovely day in Scarborough. Wanted to get a feel for what it's like out of season on a weekday, and it's just as beautiful (minus seagulls!) Called in at NMR. It's gorgeous all year round! I had a lap of the ground all to myself; words can't describe how that felt.

Most of these journalists and commentators have first-hand experience of playing in a good test team. They've seen standards slip over the last 5 years (mainly due to the rise of white ball cricket and The ghastly H*undred) and are rightly demanding an improvement.

I feel depressed, primarily for Azeem himself, but also for the future of the club. Watching Yorkshire is realistically my only pleasure in life, and to see it blow up in front of my own eyes has made me feel depressed. I don't want YCCC to disappear, but at this rate, they will.

In any other series, Dan would be a decent dancer. But, in this series, he's not very good in comparison to others as the standard is phenomenal and his popularity is starting to cause better dances to leave. He must go next week.

I was there and it wasn't necessarily a cheer, more like an outpouring of relief that the club hadn't got rid of him considering how fragile his mental health has been in the past 3 years and is willing to work with him. The forum was positive with no members saying anything bad.

Best day for it! Not everyone plays, and those who play can go on a Sunday, or when there's a bank holiday, a Monday. Fri-Mon best time for CC action, less annual leave needs to be taken if you want to catch the Friday, and there's no guarantee a 4th day finish will happen.

Watching cricket this year has made me realise that even more. Red ball is the pinnacle but it can become boring on dead pitches. T20 is too repetitive and bat dominates ball. With List A there's time to build an innings, take wickets, score quick runs & there's a result!
