As a South Indian living in Delhi and Chandigarh as a young kid, I was amazed with how Punjabi cuisine used Fenugreek leaves in their diet. Presenting my version of Methi Paneer , made with cashew onion paste and no garlic or ginger! Tasted real good!!

So, one of the things in the new year I want to try is baking. As a first try tried this ! This is a Rasmalai cake. Rasmalai is a sweet dish from the North of India and I tried to incorporate it in the cake and frosting. Now this sits in the refrigerator for 2 hrs 😞!

When I was in Paul’s lab, we ablated CAN neurons at different stages in development. The worms died when they were ablated from L1 to L4 but when we ablated them later no effect! Never could publish it. Maybe now the whole talk about ‘soul’ of the worm should make me publish it!

I disagree with most of this thread. I am the chair of my grad selection committee. We see the ability of the individual growth in our program and not how they can shape their application to individual professors’ research. The value of any good program is student mentorship!

In my case my first big paper from my lab was a co-corresponding author with my postdoctoral advisor. He was generous and recognized that I needed the paper more than him. Also he wrote in his tenure that all the work was my IP and work.
