Reflecting back over the past year, identifying areas I've improved and areas I still need to. Health has improved, physical mental and spiritual, but still some bad habits that need to go. Think I'll take some time away from the internet public for a week or two.

One surprising thing about Napoleonic-era artillery is that the cannonballs are slow and visible enough to track with the naked eye, so you can see one coming and literally dodge it. Lots of war memoirs talk about dodging incoming cannonballs.

A backer-commissioned Knightly Order, The Blazing Hearts, is coming soon to Knight Errant. Wield the fiery wrath of Heaven, but do so wisely. Each righteous conflagration costs Endurance Points. This Order is for those who burn bright and aren't afraid of burning away.

I’m going into 2026 with less ambition towards new resolutions and more focus and intention on stewarding what God has already placed in my hands. This is the way of the Kingdom. We all have gardens to keep and work.

My son likes to play near gravel after rain. There is consistently a low spot filled with water. He digs up rocks and drops or tosses them into the water. Even here, he is in danger of becoming less than human:

The political choice for young people today is essentially between Saruman and Sauron. A power for power’s sake Left wing, promising equity of misery for all, and a gnostic Right wing, driven tech fueled mysticism. The only Power we can trust is Jesus Christ.
