I am genuinely fascinated by the xevinapant (X) story. This drug essentially turns off proteins (IAPs, inhibitor of apoptosis) that themselves turn off apoptosis, hence augmenting apoptosis in cancer cells. Xevinapant functions as a SMAC mimetic, with SMAC an endogenous protein
